Disassemble Extruder 1 and 2

Unscrew the pressure bearings and cut the material to detach from the extruders.

Unscrew and remove the fans.

Unscrew and remove the Loom.

Disconnect the motors found at the back of the printer.

Mark the position of the sensor switch before unscrewing and detaching.

Set to 10mm when you re-connect

Disconnect the fans and unscrew the fan connector. Unscrew the extruder from the X carriage bearing.

Continue to unscrew the extruder plate from the X carriage bearing.

Remove the Perspex arm.

Unscrew the m3 x 16 cap screw which fixes the PTFE tube

Unscrew and detach the motors

Unscrew and detach the motor plate

Unscrew and detach the first extruder

Unscrew and detach the hot end.

Replace the hot end and re-assemble the extruder.

BFB 3000 – Replacing the Hot End

Attach the motors back onto the plate. Re-attach the sub-assembly to your printer in the reverse order that it was removed.

NOTE: When refitting the sensor switch, be careful not to over tighten the fixing screw and position at 10mm length. On completion of the assembly, reset the bed level and Z height using the functions found in the ‘Settings’ menu.
