Fulbright Full Grant The Fulbright study/research grant category includes projects in both academic and arts fields. Study/research grants are available in approximately 140 countries. Applicants design their own projects and will typically work with advisers at foreign universities or other institutes of higher education. Program requirements vary by country, so the applicant’s first step is to familiarize himself/herself with the host country’s program summary. Grant benefits for all Fulbright U.S. Student grants include:
round-trip transportation to the host country; funding for room, board, and incidental costs, based on the cost of living in the host country; and Accident & Sickness Health Benefits.
Eligibility Competitive Applicants:
must be U.S. citizens at the time of application. Permanent residents are not eligible; must have a bachelor's degree or the equivalent before the start of the grant. In the creative and performing arts, four years of professional training and/or experience meets the basic eligibility requirement; must be in good health (grantees will be required to submit a satisfactory Medical Certificate from a physician); and must have sufficient proficiency in the written and spoken language of the host country to communicate with the people and to carry out the proposed study/research. This is especially important for projects in the social sciences and the humanities.
Application Deadline
The Fulbright Program Adviser (Dean Almeida) will set a campus application deadline for Stonehill students, which is typically 4-6 weeks earlier than the final mid-October deadline.
