I f I sp eak w ith th e tongues of m en and of an g els, b u t have not love, I am become soun d in g b rass, or a clan g in g cym bal. A n d if I have th e g ift of prop h ecy , and know all m ysteries and all k n o w led g e; a n d if I have a ll faith , so as to remove m o u n tains, b u t have n o t love, I am no th ing. A n d if I bestow all my goods to feed th e p o o r, an d if I give my body to be b u rn ed , b u t have not love, it profiteth me nothing. Love suffereth long, and is k in d ; love en vieth n o t; love v au n teth not itse lf, is not puffed u p. D o th n o t behave itse lf unseem ly, seeketh n o t its own, is not provoked, ta k e th not ac count of e v il; R ejo iceth not in unrighteousness, b u t rejo ic eth w ith th e tr u th ; B e areth a ll th in g s, believeth all th in g s, h o p eth a ll th in g s, en d u reth all things. W h en I w as a child, I spake as a child, I fe lt as a child, I th o u g h t as a c h ild : now th a t I am become a m an, I have p u t aw ay ch ild ish things.
