Richard B. Racine Richard Baker Racine, age 90, of Trenton, NE passed away at El Dorado Manor in Trenton on Saturday, December 26, 2015. Richard was born on March 16, 1925 on the family farm south of Trenton, the son of Joseph M. Racine and Bertha D. Baker Racine. He graduated from Trenton High School in 1942 and was inducted into the U.S. Navy on November 1, 1943. He served throughout the Pacific Theatre of War on various LST’s earning several battle stars. Upon returning to civilian life after the war, he attended and graduated from McCook Community College in 1948. During his enrollment at the college he and several friends restored the chime system at the school. Richard then worked as an executive for Sears Roebuck and Company for many years, retiring from the company in Denver, Colorado. He returned to Trenton often as he always enjoyed visiting with the family and friends in the area. Richard had a love for old Ford cars and restored many of them. He served as President of the Denver Ford Model A Association for many years. Richard was a member of the McCook Knights of Columbus Father Trayer Council 1134 for over 62 years. He was also a member of the Stellges-Baker Legion Post in Trenton for 70 years. Richard was preceded in death by his parents, sister Esther Peterson and brother Bernard Racine. He is survived by nieces, nephews, grand nieces, grand nephews and a host of friends.
