Riding Clinic & Evaluations SUNDAY, May 28, 2017 Instructor: Christina Brokaw CLINIC STARTS: 9:00 a.m. Grounds open at 7:00 a.m.
BATH FAIRGROUNDS
Cost: 4-H Members – $15 (includes lunch and materials for lunch time activity) Come join in with the fun filled day! Christina has 30+ years of knowledge from training, showing, instructing and judging leadline riders up through adults! She has personal experience working with minis, ponies and horses of all ages and stages of training. Come out and ride with friends and pick up a few pointers too! We hope to use this clinic as a nice warm up and prep for the upcoming show season. We have a schedule for the day – but if you have a specific question or area you want to work on, please let us know! Please pre-register by May 22nd.
9:00 a.m. – Helmet & equipment check – Horse & rider (helmets are REQUIRED for all participants) 10:00 a.m. – Equitation & Ring Etiquette 12:00 – Lunch & Horsey Craft 1:30 – Showmanship – equipment, patterns, tips 3:00 – Q & A – wrap up Any 4-Her’s who need to have a riding evaluation done for the 2017 show season MUST have completed and turned in a riding evaluation form by their first show (June/July) and preferably with their paperwork on May 31st. Evaluations will NOT be done at the shows. Anyone moving up a level (except JR/Pony to SR/Pony) or new to showing in Steuben need to have a riding evaluation done. You CAN have an evaluation done at “home” with your instructor and two other knowledge horse people (not a parent) with safety in a group being of the upmost importance.
