Telematics devices collect, record, and transmit vehicle operational data. The devices plug into the vehicle’s dashboard computer and transmit the data directly from the vehicle to a web-based reporting platform. Recently, GSA Fleet leveraged our purchasing power and updated our offerings by awarding a government-wide Blanket Purchase Agreement (BPA) that provides federal agencies with the latest in telematics technology at competitive prices. This offering will assist agencies with meeting the sustainability mandates outlined in Executive Order (EO) 13693 - Planning for Federal Sustainability in the Next Decade. The BPA was awarded to AT&T on September 30, 2015 and is open to all federal agencies for both GSA Fleet purchasing and leasing customers. Federal agencies purchase telematics and arrange for the installation directly with AT&T, with their own contracting staff and preferred payment method. Onsite installation can be arranged with AT&T at $142.50 per installer in addition to the $46.55 per unit installation price. If GSA Fleet customers plan to install telematics devices on GSA Fleet leased vehicles, we request that a letter of agreement (LOA) be signed by the customer agency and GSA Fleet. The BPA with AT&T offers two categories of telematics: GPS Tracking Only and GPS Tracking with Vehicle Diagnostics. The GPS Tracking Only option is ideal for medium duty vehicles. The GPS Tracking combined with Vehicle Diagnostics will help agencies meet the mandates set forth in the new EO. The table on the left indicates, by category, reporting data capabilities available. Agencies can place orders through the BPA, directly with AT&T. The rates listed in the table below have been pre-negotiated to allow for a simple, streamlined ordering process.
