RIVERDALE GALLERY RENTAL INFORMATION PACKAGE

1326 Gerrard street East (Gerrard & Greenwood) Operational hours: Monday – Friday 9:00 am – 5:00 pm Saturday 11:00 am – 5:30 pm www.RiverdaleGallery.ca Gallery Coordinator: Hayley Dawson – [email protected]

ABOUT The Riverdale Gallery features two large exhibition spaces with wooden floors and high ceilings in a building that runs largely on green energy. The gallery is located on the third and uppermost floor of a community center that also comprises the Riverdale Hub and the Riverdale Immigrant Women’s Center. These social organizations have helped shape the character and mandate of the Gallery, which strives to be an inclusive creative environment informed by the values of diversity and sustainability. The Riverdale gallery shares a programming schedule with these partner organizations, making the space not exclusively an art gallery, but host to a variety of events and community activity. In addition to providing rentals, the gallery curates thematic group exhibitions several times per year and has taken part in city-wide art festivals such as Contact Photography Festival, Doors Open Toronto, and Culture Days. We are always interested in opportunities to collaborate and build partnerships with the local community.

GALLERY RENTAL OVERVIEW STAFF ASSISTANCE & VOLUNTEERS While renting the gallery we will do all that we can to ensure your exhibition runs smoothly and successfully. Our curator and gallery coordinator will be accessible for logistical assistance and general advising. Additionally, the Riverdale Hub has a rooster of 100 volunteers that the gallery can access for assistance during installation, setup, or for receptions, given proper notice. During rental periods, the gallery can provide an attendant for several shifts per week, but will require the renter to have staff or volunteers of their own if they require the space to be monitored during all opening hours. ACCESSING THE SPACE Renters will be provided a key to access the space for installation purposes as needed. They may also choose to keep the gallery open for extended hours, but must have appropriate staff present to monitor the space. Please note that the space is fully accessible. Our regular operational hours are Monday – Friday from 9:00 am – 5:00 pm and on Saturdays from 11:00 am – 5:30 pm. PROMOTION We assist with the promotion of all art exhibitions through our website and social media channels. We also send regular notices of upcoming art shows and events to our emailing list of past visitors and clients. Additional promotional work and advertising for target audiences should be carried out by the renter (e.g. Facebook event page, flyers, posters, etcetera). SALES For a small administrative fee, the gallery can process artwork sales made by cash, cheque, or e-transfer. The renter may choose for the gallery to handle all sales, or to have buyers referred to the artist or their respective agent.
