David M. Wright Senior Vice President and Deputy Director Banking Supervision and Regulation Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco David M. Wright joined the Federal Reserve Bank of San Francisco in the Division of Banking Supervision and Regulation in February 2007. As Deputy Director of the Division and head of the Large Institution Supervision Group, he oversees the supervisory programs for Wells Fargo Corporation, Zions Bancorporation, Franklin Resources Inc, Visa Inc, Banc West Corporation, and the U.S. operations of Mitsubishi UFJ Financial Group. Prior to 2010, Mr. Wright oversaw the Division’s risk coordination, economic capital analysis, surveillance, applications and enforcement functions. Prior to joining the Bank, Mr. Wright was the Associate Director of the risk management supervision function at the Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System. In that capacity, he was responsible for: initiating System risk supervision exams and projects; developing guidance articulating the Federal Reserve’s expectations for banking organization risk management systems across credit, market, operations and compliance risks; and, keeping the Board of Governors and System supervisory personnel informed as significant risk trends, issues or potential concerns emerged. Prior to joining the Federal Reserve in 1991, Mr. Wright was Vice President at First Boston Corporation where he specialized in mergers and acquisitions, financial modeling, corporate valuations, and the mortgage finance industry. He received a B.A. from Wake Forest University and an M.B.A from the College of William and Mary.
