Roman Shade Supply List In this class, you will make a sample mini roman shade, approximately 18” x 30” that you can use as a template to make additional roman shades throughout your home. Please feel free to contact me with any questions. Rebecca Letwin 206-939-0325 or [email protected]
Please bring the following to class: 1) One piece of feature fabric that is 22” x 34”. Since we will be making a sample mini roman shade, you can use a fabric remnant/something you aren’t crazy about. 2) One piece of muslin fabric that is 18” x 30” 3) Three pieces of muslin fabric that are each 4” x 20” 4) Wonder tape 5) Thread 6) Sewing machine in good working order (with foot pedal and cord). Please test your machine prior to coming to class to be sure it works well. The store has machines that can be borrowed. 7) Sliding metal seam gauge 8) Sewing equipment including tape measure, pins, scissors, etc.
In class, we will go over what to use to create a “black-out” shade, how to properly string the shade, how to mount and install the shade, and different embellishment options you can use. I will also have sample shades, rings, and hardware for you to look at and a guide to take home when you make your own.
