42FA Nominal cooling capacity 1.1-7.0 kW Nominal heating capacity 1.3-9.4 kW The new 42FA fan coil units combine robustness with an aesthetically pleasing, attractive design. They will enhance any surroundings, such as hotel rooms, shops, offices and private homes. The compact 42FA fan coil units are available in seven sizes and four chassis arrangements, with an air flow range from 67 l/s to 328 l/s. Features n With its sleek styling the 42FA blends in perfectly with any
room decor. The high-quality finish results in a robust and solid unit. n The 42FA units have been designed for quiet operation, using a powerful centrifugal fan. n The 42FA unit is also ideal for use in hydronic air conditioning systems. These systems use chilled water instead of refrigerant in the connecting pipes between the indoor unit and the chiller, and are therefore more environmentally acceptable than direct-expansion systems.
n The 42FA units offer exceptional installation flexibility:
- The product offering includes units with a cabinet for floor, wall or under-ceiling installation, and units without cabinet for furred-in installation. Feet are available as an accessory. - The unit connection side can easily be changed from right to left or vice versa. - Factory-mounted heating coil option for 4-pipe system. - Choice of three different controls.
n Routine maintenance is limited to filter cleaning. The unit
filter and all other components are easily accessible.
n The standard units can be upgraded on site with the
required accessories to cover all user needs.
n The 42FA units are Eurovent certified.

Example: Required: Performance of model 42FA 03, operating at the following conditions: 27°C db, 19°C wb air temperature, 7°C chilled water temperature, 5 K water temperature rise in the unit. Procedure: Locate the 5 K temperature rise curve on the right-hand scale and proceed vertically to the intersection with the 7°C water temperature line. At the intersection point go horizontally to the left up to the intersection with the 19°C wb and 27°C db curves. Proceed vertically from these points and read the values from the upper scale.

Note: Sensible heat capacity readings higher than corresponding total cooling capacity readings indicate dry coil operation (cooling without dehumidification). For fan coil units operating in such conditions use the sensible heat capacity values only.

Heating capacities The total unit heating capacity is obtained by multiplying the specific capacity by the temperature difference between the entering water temperature and the entering air dry bulb temperature. The maximum operating temperature for hot water is 95°C, maximum operating pressure is 14 bar.
