Rosary Parents, The Rosary Sports Boosters welcomes you to the 2014-15 Rosary athletic year. After a successful 2013-14 year, we have once again set lofty goals for helping our athletic program. Below is a recap of where we’ve been and where we’re going. More importantly we hope this encourages you to become involved in our organization and events! What did we accomplish during 2013-14? 1. In addition to a fantastic athletic year on the fields, courts, and in the pool, last year was one of our most successful fundraising years in recent history. Through the help of committed parents, we generated over $130,000 in revenue and contributed over $70,000 in support of the athletic programs for our girls. Areas we supported: Travel for the Golf, Cross Country, Swim and Track teams to state competitions Track repairs and new starting blocks Folding chairs for the Volleyball and Basketball teams A new high jump pit for the Track & Field team Contributing $25K to the school to help defray athletic program costs Awards/Letters for all teams Contributing $20K towards a newly formed Sports Boosters Capital Project Fund to support athletic facilities improvements 2. We re-located the Super Bowl Party by moving it from the gym to the Turf Room. The event was a huge fundraising success. 3. Established new ways to market Rosary Athletics to prospective student athletes: Co-hosting a Rosary/Marmion Middle School Cross Country meet in September. Hosting the Rosary/MLK 6th & 7th Grade Middle School Basketball Tournament. These events attracted 9 Cross Country teams (270 runners) and 14 Middle School Basketball teams (200 basketball players). What are the Sport Boosters’ goals for 2014-15? 1. $130,000 in revenue: We want to match or exceed what we did this past year. 2. 100% membership participation rate: Last year was our first year with a membership and we reached 91% parent participation. 3. $76,000 in direct support to the athletic program in our 3 key areas: a. Direct Athletic Program Support: Approximately $26,000 is budgeted for new equipment, uniforms, repairs & maintenance. b. Sports Boosters Capital Project Fund: We hope to save $25,000 to fund future athletic facility improvements we can partner with the school to support. c. Contribution to the School: Approximately $25,000 was contributed in 2013-14 to help offset the school’s operating expenses related to the athletic program. We look to continue this contribution. 4. Recruit new parents: We really need new parents (particularly of freshman & sophomore athletes!) with fresh ideas to help us continue improving our events! 5. Continue enhancing existing events and find new & creative ways to raise funds
