Game Day Regulations ➢ No Game begins before the team is registered ➢ If a team hasn’t arrived by the scheduled game time, it results in a 15 yard penalty against the tardy team, if they haven’t shown by 15 minutes the result is a forfeit
➢ The home and visiting team lines-up on one knee facing each other on each 45 yard lines…with helmets removed (in order of the pictured roster) There may be some unpreventable circumstances were a player arrives late, in order to play, that player must be check-in with a team representative from both teams and witness by a referee and/or a commissioner…they may not just run onto the field and begin play until this is done

➢ One offense and defense coach will be allowed on the field for D and C team games. All coaches must be 5 yards behind the deepest back on offense and defense
➢ D teams can play with 8 players. Must have 5 on line when playing 8
➢ There is no mercy rule, the King of Kings tournament views one sided games as an opportunity for non-starting players to get some quality plays in. However; it would be viewed shameful for the score to be run up with all the starting offensive players remaining throughout the game as if the game is competitive
➢ All divisions defensive formations must have at least 3 down lineman and cannot stand over the interior line or gaps with the exception of 12u (tackle to tackle)
➢ 10u and 12u kick-off from the 45 yard line….and free punts are mandatory unless they go for it on 4th down and punts are returnable
➢ 8u non kick offs begin on the 30yd line and punts begin on the 40yd line
➢ 6u begin at the 40yd line
➢ If a player is ejected or seriously injured he cannot re-enter the game, he must remove his helmet and jersey while on the bench.
➢ On an onside kick, if the ball does not travel ten yards before the kicking team recovers the ball, they will take a 5-yard penalty and has the chance to kick another onside kick. If the onside kick goes less than 10 yards again, the receiving team will receive the ball at the spot the kicking team recovered it. However, if the receiving team touches the ball before it goes 10 yards, either team can recover it without being penalized
➢ All Blocks must be above the waist unless it occurs within the Free Blocking Zone (4 yards on each side of the ball before it’s in play/ 3 yards to the front and back of the ball –this is also commonly referred to as the Tackle Box)

➢ No game can end on a defensive penalty at the end half or regulation
➢ Scoring Values Touchdown - 6 points Point after TD (5 yards) - 2 points Point after TD (2 yards) - 1 point Field Goal Point after TD (10 yards) - 1 point (Defense can rush) Field Goal Attempt - 3 points (Defense can rush) Safety (awarded to opponent) - 2 points Forfeit (offended team wins by) - 6 points ➢ Overtime: A coin toss determines which side shall attempt to score first, and at which end zone the scores shall be attempted. Each team in turn will receive one possession starting on the 10 yard line, each team will have 4 downs to score
➢ Sportsmanship is expected at all times…. Officials will be instructed to call misappropriate physical conduct by players extra close to prevent escalation of frustration which may lead to an ejection….if a player purposely injures or does an act to try to injure a player…he will be ejected not only from that game but subject to ejection from the league if deemed necessary by the governing competition board.

➢ Equipment Regulations
A. No cleats will be allowed with metal cleats.
B. Football Size by Division: 1. K2 or equivalent (6u & 8u team) 2. TDJ or equivalent (10u team) 3. TDY or equivalent (12uTeam) C. Mouth piece must be worn by all players and proper equipment must be worn at all times (determination factors game day officials).
Game Clock Regulations ➢ Running Clock: other than a time out, running clock does not stop for any
reasons including first downs, incomplete passes, or out of bounds. Running Clock does not move on 1 or 2 point conversions (1pt 3 yards 2pt 5 yards) or a kick-off prior to the ball being kicked
➢ Minutes per Quarter:

➢ Time Outs Will Stop the Clock- 25 sec interval (3 per half) ➢ Halftime 3 minutes
➢ Clock will stop 30 seconds at 2-minute mark in the 2nd and 4th quarter
➢ Clock will stop for 25 seconds for team water break at end of 1st and 3rd
quarters
➢ Delay of game occurs when the ball isn’t snapped prior to 25 seconds from
the time the referee signals the ball ready for play (blows the whistle)
➢ No Regulation Clock Rules Will Apply except on 10u and 12u last 2 minutes
in the 4th quarter CHAMPIONSHIP GAME ONLY!!!
➢ Scores must be recorded on score sheets before resetting clock for next
game

Ineligible players are players who: 1. Do not meet the birth date eligibility 2. Is added to the roster after the official certification 3. Is not on the official roster 4. Changing numbers without notifying King of Kings staff of the change on roster before the start of a game…. THERE WILL BE NO ADDING PLAYERS TO ROSTERS AFTER TEAM IS REGISTERED Protesting an Ineligible Player(s) Procedure
1. Notify the KOK staff that your team will be filing a protest against a team/player. The first one is free. The second one is $10. The third is $25 2. All protest forms along with any money are due with the process and presentation of documents/evidence. 3. Calling, texting, discussing the allegations directly are not official protests and will not be investigated unless proper procedure and form submitted. All investigations are handled by the KOK staff. 4. After the appropriate investigation, the KOK staff will present the gathered information or lack thereof to the KOK competition board (comprised of all representing members) 5. A protest must be submitted any time within the day (by 11:59 P.M. CST) the ineligible player is scheduled to play the accusing team.
Zero Tolerance *On a successful protest, and cheating is proven, the head coach of that squad and the team automatically is forfeited from the tournament

Sportsmanship Infractions
1. Noticeable extended bickering and arguing among coaches of the opposite or even same team) 15-yard penalty…. then may face additional consequences by the Competition Committee 2. Teams(players) not shaking hands, 15-yard penalty next game…. plus, the head coach of the squad will have to meet with the Competition Committee 3. Team exceeding 2 unsportsmanlike penalties, loss of down with a 15-yard penalty
Game Penalties 1. “Directive” profanity toward referee, players, parents……….10yard penalty 2. Players/trainers/ball boys outside the coach’s/players box…. after 2 sideline warnings ….10yard penalty 3. Fighting/Players taunting (based on MHSAA definition) ….10yard yard penalty 4. KOK General Business Practices *Host is the tournament figure head and ambassador; all game day concerns are determined by the referee with the backing of the KOK Rule Book, fines, penalties determined by the Competition Committee
*All 2017 KOK game admissions are $5 (5yrs and under are free) *Only one team mom/dad …. 2 trainers… 4 total coaches per squad and 2 total cheer coaches (only if your cheerleaders are present and in uniform to cheer) per organization for free entry is permitted with KOK badge

Coaching Ethics & Conduct The primary goal of coaches should be the development of boys and girls to become better citizens. The p layers must be taught sportsmanship and fair play, and these teachings should always govern their behavi or while at practice and at games. ➢ The coach will not criticize players in front of spectators. ➢ The coach will accept the decisions of officials. ➢ The coach will not criticize the officials, the opposing team, the coaches, fans or parents through language or gesture. ➢ The coach will emphasize that good athletes are good students, and both are physically and mentally alert. ➢ The coach will strive to make every football activity serve as a training ground for life and as a basis for good mental and physical health. ➢ The coach will emphasize that winning a game is the result of teamwork. ➢ The coach shall not use abusive or profane language in front of anyone connected with the game. ➢ The coach will refrain from “running up” the score against an opponent.
