PREPARATION Place the three Temples in the middle of the playing area. (In a 3-player game, only use two Temples.) Each player takes the 12 Offering Cards and Scoring Aid in a color of their choice. Put the 50 God’s Favor tokens in the bag. Note: In a 3-player game, do not use the 6 Zeus Tokens (Yellow) and remove one of each of the other color’s tokens (for a total of 40 tokens in the bag). Place all the Gods tiles in the center of the table so players can identify the values of each one. Note: In a 3-player game, do not use the Zeus tile. If this is your first game, we recommend that you do not use the following components: The Hades Temple punchboard. 2 Hades tokens. 5 special rules cardboard tokens.

The youngest player takes the bag of tokens. They will be the first player in the 1st round.

GOAL Accumulate the most points in Gods’ Favors to become the new Elected.

HOW TO PLAY Important! When playing with only two players, a special set of rules are used. These are explained at the end of the rulebook. The game is played over twelve rounds. Each round has the same sequence: 1. DRAW GOD’S FAVOR TOKENS: The first player draws 4 God’s Favor tokens from the bag (3 tokens in a 3-player game). They then select and place one token on top of each Temple. The remaining token is returned to the bag. 2. PLACE OFFER CARDS: Beginning with the first player and following in a clockwise direction, all of the players

3

now place one of the Offering cards from their hand, facedown, next to one of the Temples. If a Temple already has a card placed next to it, the next one is laid on top of the previous card. 3. REPLACE, MOVE: Once all of the players have placed their Offering cards, each player will have a chance to make ONE CHANGE to their Offering card. Beginning with the first player and following in a clockwise direction, each player can EITHER: a) REPLACE the placed card with another one from their hand. b) MOVE the played card to a DIFFERENT Temple. In either case, if a change is made, the player’s new card must be placed on top of any cards already laid next to that Temple. Note: A player is not obliged to make this change. They can pass and leave their card where it was originally played. 4. RECEIVING GOD’S FAVOR TOKENS: All cards are turned face up. For each Temple, there are three possible results:

4

a) If only one player placed an Offering card at the Temple, that player takes the God’s Favor token. b) If multiple players placed Offering cards at the same Temple, the player who played the highest Offering card takes the God’s Favor token. Note: In case of a tie, the player who placed their card first (the card closest to the bottom of the pile) gets the token. c) If no players placed an Offering token next to a Temple, the God’s Favor token is removed from the game. Note: Players place their God’s Favor tokens in front of them so everyone can see them. 5. RETRIEVING OFFERING CARDS: Players that did not receive a God’s Favor token in a round can take their card back into their hand. However, they MUST then discard a card (facedown into the discard pile.) It can either be the card they just took back or a different card from their hand.

6. LOW VALUE OFFERING CARDS: If a player wins a God’s Favor token using a low value Offering card (number 1-5), they must place that Offering card facedown below their Scoring Aid card. These cards may score bonus points at the end of the game. (See the Bonus Scoring section of the rules.) 7. END OF A ROUND: All played cards (except low value winner cards) are removed from the game. Make a common discard pile (facedown) next to the playing area. The player to the left of the first player takes the bag. They will be the starting player for the next round.

END & SCORING The game ends after 12 rounds. Players score points for: a) God’s Favor tokens they have acquired; b) Bonus points for collecting groups of God’s Favor tokens of the same color; c)Bonus points for low value Offering cards stored.

a) God’s Favor tokens are scored as follows: For each Apollo token => 1 point For each Artemis token => 2 points For each Poseidon token => 3 points For each Athena token => 4 points For each Zeus token => 5 points

b) Bonus points for collecting several tokens of the same color are scored as follows: 3 tokens of the same color => 5 points 4 tokens of the same color => 10 points 5 tokens of the same color => 20 points

c) Bonus points for having low value Offering cards are scored as follows: (check 2-players special scoring rules): 2 cards stored => 3 points 3 cards stored => 6 points 4 cards stored => 10 points

WINNER The player with most points wins. If two or more players tie with the most points, the one who has the most God’s Favors tokens wins. If there is still a tie, tied players share victory.

EXAMPLE OF PLAY In Phase 2 (Place Offering Cards), the Red, Blue, and Gray players place their Offering cards next to each of the available Temples. The Green player then decides to place their Offering card next to the Neptune (blue) token. Their card is placed on top of the Grey player’s card. Since everyone has played an Offering card, Phase 2 is over.

Phase 3 (Move/Replace) now begins. The Gray player is the first one to choose. Believing the Green player’s Offering card to be higher than theirs, the Gray player moves their Offering card to the Apollo (green) Temple, hoping that their Offering is higher than that of the Red player. Red is the second player, so they decide to change the Offering card they played for a card they have in hand. Apparently, the Red player really wants that Apollo token! Phase 3 continues, first with the Blue player, and then the Green player, choosing to move or replace their Offering cards. Once everyone is done, the cards are revealed, the God’s Favor tokens are awarded, and the players who didn’t receive a token retrieve their Offering card.

HOW TO PLAY When playing with two players, you will follow the same rules as with three, four, or five players, but with the following changes:

The game is played in two stages of six rounds each. Use one set of Offering cards for each stage. Sequence of a Round: The drawing and distribution of the God’s Favors tokens are the same as for games with four or five players. The first player alternates after the end of every round. Starting with the first player, alternate placing Offering cards until both have placed two. (Four cards total placed per round.) Both Offering cards placed by a player come from the same color set.

7

Once the four cards have been placed, players have a chance to make ONE CHANGE to only one of their cards. Beginning with the first player, each player can EITHER: a) REPLACE one card with another one from their hand, or b) MOVE one of the cards they played to a DIFFERENT Temple. All of the cards are turned faceup and the God’s Favor tokens are distributed in the same way as described for the game with 3 to 5 players. Retrieving an Offering card: A player that did not receive any God’s Favor tokens in a round can retrieve both cards they just played, but they MUST discard an equal number of cards afterwards. They can either be the cards they just took back or different cards from their hand. Low value Offering cards: A player that managed to gain a God’s Favor token with a low value Offering card (from 1-5), keeps that card to score bonus points at the end of the second stage.

8
