Sewing the RV Ramblings Quilt General Directions • Stitch all seams a scant ¼”. • Press seams as indicated on pattern. If no pressing directions are indicated, press toward darker fabric. • WOF in cutting instructions means “width of fabric.” Where you see this, cut from selvage to selvage. • QST means “Quarter Square Triangle.” • HST means “Half Square Triangle.” • RST means “Right Sides Together.” Place printed surfaces of fabric facing each other. • The hand printed fabric used in this pattern is subject to heat during printing. Slight shrinkage could occur. If pieces do not measure required cutting size, you may need to “fudge” slightly on seam allowances. Four Patch Blocks - Make 20 Stitch together a Fabric A 3¾” x WOF strip and a Fabric B 3¾” x WOF strip along long edge; press seam toward darker fabric; repeat with additional 3¾” x WOF strips. Cut crosswise to make 40 3¾” x 7” rectangles. Using two A/B rectangles, reverse one, match seams and edges, and stitch together to make a Four-Patch. Press seam open. Repeat to make a total of 20 Four-Patch blocks. Star Point Squares - Make 31 Stitch together a Fabric A and Fabric D QST. Press seam open. Add Fabric C HST to make Star Point Square as shown. Trim to 7" square. Repeat to make a total of 31 Star Point Squares.

Star Blocks - Make 4 Using 4 Four-Patch Blocks, 4 Star Point Blocks, and one saying square or fabric A 7” square as appropriate, make 3 rows, then join the rows to make a Star Block. Repeat to make a total of 4 Star Blocks.

Sewing the RV Ramblings Quilt (continued) Matching seams and edges, assemble 5 horizontal rows as shown at left. Matching seams and edges, join rows. Using ruler, mat, & rotary cutter, straighten raw edges, being careful to leave ¼” outside of star points. Sewing a diagonal seam, join the 6 Fabric B Inner Border strips endto-end to make a continuous strip. Sewing a diagonal seam, join the 6 Fabric C Outer Border strips end-to-end to make a continuous strip. Stitch the two Border strips together along long edge. Cut two pieced strips 58” each, and cut two 70” each. Press-mark the center of each strip and, matching center of Border strip to center of quilt top, pin borders to top and bottom of quilt. Stitch along long edge of inner border, starting and stopping ¼” from ends of quilt center. Leave long ends in place. Do not trim.

Attention: Make these marks on WRONG SIDES of border pieces!

Attach left and right sides in the same way, leaving long ends in place. Lay quilt flat, right side down. Overlap ends of borders at 90 degree angle. Mark a diagonal line on WRONG side each border strip by placing a ruler across from the point where the stitching lines meet on the quilt edge to the point where the ends cross. Place borders RST, matching seams, and stitch mitered corner. Repeat for all four corners. Trim seams to ¼” and press open. Layer, Quilt, Bind, Enjoy!
