RUSH SOCCER Ryan Hayes Ryan Hayes- High School Boys Director Chicago Rush South Ryan Hayes enters his third season leading the Purdue Northwest men's soccer program. Hayes led the Black and Gold to its second straight NAIA Postseason Tournament appearance, along with back-to-back double digit win totals and eight Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference victories. In his second season with the Pride, Hayes saw defender Sergio Reyes record the fourth CoSIDA Academic All-American in PNW history, along with goalkeeper Miguel David earn NSCAA All-Region honors. In his first season as head coach for the Black and gold, Hayes led the Peregrines to their first-ever NAIA National Tournament appearance, after falling to Davenport in the opening round. Hayes also led Purdue Calumet to their best season since the reinstatement of the program in 2012, going 12-5-2 overall and 8-3-1 in Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference play. The Peregrines ranked third in the CCAC in goals per game (2.33) and goals allowed (1.22), while also ranking fourth in assists per game (1.56) and points per game (6.22). Hayes comes to Purdue Northwest via Chicagoland Collegiate Athletic Conference member Roosevelt University, where he served as the Lakers’ top assistant for the last three seasons. While at Roosevelt, Hayes helped the Lakers – who reintroduced men’s soccer in 2012 – win 27 games in three years, including two CCAC playoff appearances and a fourth-place CCAC finish in 2014. Using a strong recruiting class from primarily the Chicagoland area, the Lakers’ high-powered offense ranked second in all of the NAIA in goals per game (3.95), shots on goal (11.4) and stood first nationally in total assists (79) and assists per game (4.16) by the close of the 2014 season. In addition to his duties at Roosevelt, Hayes serves as the Executive Director and Director of Coaching at Raiders FC in Lemont, Ill., where he oversees 27 boys and girls club soccer teams levels U7 to U18 and manages the day-to-day operations of the organization. Prior to his time at Roosevelt, Hayes served as a Technical Director, Soccer Coach and Speed and Agility Coach for the Willmette Wings Soccer Club in Willmette, Ill., as well as a Soccer Coach for Coerver Coaching Illinois. Hayes achieved the top United States Soccer Federation “A” Coaching License in 2014. A former player, Hayes played collegiate soccer in his native Australia, competing for the University of Wollongong in New South Wales. In addition, Hayes played semi-professionally for the Bulli Soccer Club of the Illawarra Premier League as well as the Viking Athletic Association of the Metropolitan Soccer League. Hayes earned his Bachelor of Commerce from the University of Wollongong with a double major in international business and Japanese. Copyright © 2002, Rush Soccer
