To all Parents/Carers Compton Park Spine Road – leading to S Peter’s Collegiate School and St Edmunds Catholic Academy Time Scale: September, October and November 2015 We received notification in the Summer that Wolverhampton City Council would be formally adopting the Compton Park Spine Road. The City Council has taken advantage of the summer period to carry out essential works to ensure it meets the required standards of an adopted City Council road. This has involved extensive works which commenced in July and are likely to continue until November 2015. We are very pleased to see a new cycle path included in the plans for our students, in addition to another pedestrian path. We would encourage your son/daughter to come into school on a bike in order to promote healthy well-being on the completion of this path. In order for the path to be safe, guard railings will be erected leading up to St Edmunds main student entrance. Upgraded crossings are being installed with appropriate raised kerbs. There will be parts of the road that will be extended, giving greater visibility to ensure both pedestrians and motorists use the spine road safely when it is completed. Appropriate line markings, including double yellow lines with the necessary enforcements will be added on completion to ensure this busy site is kept safe. For the duration of these works please do not use the spine road. If you are dropping off or collecting a student or students, please park safely nearby and walk. National Express West Midlands school buses will be allowed access to the turning circle in order to maintain these services. I take this opportunity in thanking you for your support whilst these essential works are taking place to promote the safety of our school community. If you have any concerns or questions please contact Mark Nicholls at Wolverhampton City Council on 01902 555746. Regards
