Bulky or awkward Stand with feet shoulder-width apart. Squat down close to load.

Place at least one hand under the load and rise slowly at the same time.

USE THIS LIFT WHEN...

Keep load close while lifting with your legs, NOT with your back.

Move your feet to turn. NEVER TWIST your spine.

Or when the load is unevenly distributed, unstable or the Team Lift label is visible

Place stepstool securely near the lift site. Face the stepstool.

Place at least one hand under the load and step up carefully.

Keep load close to your waist while lifting load upward.

Staggered feet, wide stance, centered load, use your legs

LOAD CLOSE Get close to the load prior to lifting (don’t reach), center weight between the shoulders

PROPER GRIP Grip the box beneath the load, not clasping the sides of boxes

PLANNING Check the weight, stability and size of the package

Plan your route and remove obstacles

Grab all necessary tools to complete your lift safely (step stool, shepherd’s hook, pallet jack, etc.)

Ask another Associate to assist you with the lift, if needed

TEAM LIFTING* PREPARE

Identify the Associate responsible for coordinating the lift

COMMUNICATE

Associates must communicate with each other in order to lift and move the load in unison

BALANCE

To help balance the load, Associates should be about the same height *Team lifts are required when lifting items greater than 35 lbs. One Associate per 35 lbs.

CLEANLINESS Pick up debris on the floor Properly dispose of hangers, trash, sizing clips, EAS pins or any broken fixture components

A wA R E N E S S Remove any empty peg hooks or six-way arms, OR flex merchandise onto them T R U C K DAYS

Don’t overload Z-Rails and U-Boats. They become difficult to navigate when overloaded. Safely stow unused fixture components

RESPONSIBILITY Keep cords on the floor covered and taped down Remove all equipment from the Sales Floor when not in use DO NOT leave the area when a spill is spotted on the floor. Call for assistance.
