Dear Friends, On behalf of the San Francisco Glens Soccer Club – welcome! Thank you for coming tonight to celebrate the 51st Anniversary of the San Francisco Glens Soccer Club. The San Francisco Junior Glens provide boys and girls with the opportunity to play the game of soccer, learn and develop their skills with style, flair and creativity - “The Glens Way.” Along the way kids develop self confidence and the discipline of working within a team for a common goal. We are a soccer club built on the support of our community that strives to give young people from all backgrounds the opportunity to play at the next level and to utilize their experiences and learning through soccer into their future lives. We believe that through sports and soccer specifically we can positively influence children’s lives and enrich our communities for years to come. Our Club’s rich soccer history has brought National recognition and achievements at the highest Senior (Adult) amateur levels in the United States. The spirit of challenge to bring the same accolades to the Junior Glens is at the core of our approach. Today the San Francisco Glens are reaching new heights as a youth soccer club. With several tournament championships already under our belt, including the 2012 Under 11 year old Boys Association State Cup Championship, the Glens are on the rise again! We could not have accomplished the success we have achieved without the commitment and enthusiasm from the parents and coaches. We appreciate the continued support from everyone who has ever been involved with the Glens and are proud to carry on the legacy of this prestigious club. We look forward to a successful spring season and an unforgettable evening tonight! On behalf of the SF Glens Board of Directors

2012 Recognitions Club Man of the Year
Joe Dugan
The Glens Club man of the Year award is presented annually to a Club member who has brought great distinction to the Club and throughout the year has shown dedicated service to the Club. Joe has demonstrated leadership, vision and professionalism in helping the Glens grow to new levels. He is incredibly involved in our community and a tremendous advocate for soccer, exemplifying outstanding leadership in further developing the game. After a playing college soccer at USF, Joe played for the Glens senior team for 15 seasons. Joe serves on the Glens Board of Directors and with the support of his wife, Jenny, they support their two Junior Glens, Aidan and Ryan athletic endeavors.

Karen has given many hours of service to the Club as our “chief” camp register, making sure all the kids feel welcome and get check in and safely checked out! And when the little ones needs to go to the bathroom, feel a little sick or simply get an elbow to the face - Karen is there making sure the kids are safe. In addition, Karen is the Team Parent for the U10 Brown team, which her husband Bob Byrne coaches and her twin boys - Robbie & Jack - play on. Karen is always there for the kids FIRST and foremost and because of her, the Glens community is strong & thriving.

Whether its a tournament in Sacramento and arranging hotels, helping with the BBQ at an earthquakes game, helping with camp registration, spearheading a dinner, a fundraiser or attending an event at City Hall Karen Powell has been and is an invaluable asset to the Club. Karen gracefully gives her time and service to the Club with the support of her husband Bob, who along with Karen support there three Junior Glens Timmy, Jack, and Andrew. Her countless hours of volunteer hours (albeit sometimes over a bottle of wine with Cami & Deirdre) are very appreciated and the Glens are a better Club because all of Karen’s efforts.

2012 Recognitions Club Man of the Year
Joe Dugan
The Glens Club man of the Year award is presented annually to a Club member who has brought great distinction to the Club and throughout the year has shown dedicated service to the Club. Joe has demonstrated leadership, vision and professionalism in helping the Glens grow to new levels. He is incredibly involved in our community and a tremendous advocate for soccer, exemplifying outstanding leadership in further developing the game. After a playing college soccer at USF, Joe played for the Glens senior team for 15 seasons. Joe serves on the Glens Board of Directors and with the support of his wife, Jenny, they support their two Junior Glens, Aidan and Ryan athletic endeavors.

Karen has given many hours of service to the Club as our “chief” camp register, making sure all the kids feel welcome and get check in and safely checked out! And when the little ones needs to go to the bathroom, feel a little sick or simply get an elbow to the face - Karen is there making sure the kids are safe. In addition, Karen is the Team Parent for the U10 Brown team, which her husband Bob Byrne coaches and her twin boys - Robbie & Jack - play on. Karen is always there for the kids FIRST and foremost and because of her, the Glens community is strong & thriving.

Whether its a tournament in Sacramento and arranging hotels, helping with the BBQ at an earthquakes game, helping with camp registration, spearheading a dinner, a fundraiser or attending an event at City Hall Karen Powell has been and is an invaluable asset to the Club. Karen gracefully gives her time and service to the Club with the support of her husband Bob, who along with Karen support there three Junior Glens Timmy, Jack, and Andrew. Her countless hours of volunteer hours (albeit sometimes over a bottle of wine with Cami & Deirdre) are very appreciated and the Glens are a better Club because all of Karen’s efforts.
