San Francisco International Airport (SFO), the “gateway to the Pacific,” is a world-class airport. Serving more than 44 million domestic and international passengers in 2012, SFO is the seventh largest airport in the U.S. and one of the world’s 30 busiest TE R M I N A L 3 United airports. SFO is also the largest airport in the Bay- United Express area and the second busiest in California. SFO has received local, national and global recognition for its achievements. In 2013, the airport received the Excellence in Business for Economic Development award from the San Francisco Chamber of Commerce, the Disadvantaged Business Enterprise Advocate and Partner award from the Federal Aviation Ad­ ministration and Airports Council International-North America’s Environmental Achievement Award.
