April 26, 2018 Dear Senior Parents: The Sanger High School graduation ceremony for the Class of 2018 will be held at the Save Mart Center on the Fresno State campus on Friday, June 8th, 2018 at 7:00PM. Doors will open to the public at 5:30PM. Please read through the information below to ensure a successful and memorable celebration for all. Fines and Obligations: Cash/Money Orders/Credit Cards Only. NO Checks – Students who owe financial or school related obligations must have them cleared prior to May 31, 2018 no later than 4:00 pm. Students who fail to clear all fines and obligations will not be allowed to participate in the graduation ceremony. Grades – Counselors will get final grades after school on Thursday, May 31. Students will be notified on Monday, June 4, if they will not graduate due to a failed class. Caps & Gowns – On Wednesday, May 23, caps and gowns will be distributed to seniors with no failing grades or fines. Jostens will be located by the student government room for cap/gown pick-up. Grad Nite – Thursday, May 31, 2018. Students will begin gathering in the MPR at 3:30PM. St. Mary’s Mass – Mass is located at St. Mary’s Church (on Bethel) and will begin on Sunday, June 3, at 10:30AM. Students must wear dress clothes with graduation gown only (no cap). Students need to sign up with Becky Salinas in the Guidance Office. There is a reception following the ceremony. SHS Baccalaureate – Service will be held in the MPR on Sunday, June 3, at 6:00PM. Senior Meeting – Students are to attend a mandatory meeting in the MPR on Monday, June 4, at 9:00AM sharp. Students must be in dress code and must be on time. Senior BBQ – Seniors are invited to attend the BBQ located at the SHS pool on Tuesday, June 5, at 11:00AM. The cost is a $5 and payment can be made at the Student Center until Monday June 4 at 3:00 pm. Graduation Practice – Initial practice will be held at the Sanger High School Big Gym on Thursday June 7, beginning promptly at 9 AM. We will begin lining students up as they arrive. Walking partners will line up at the gym parking lot gates and must have their walking partner in order to line up. If students are late, they will lose their place and have to go to the back of the processional lines. This includes Academic Scholars and CSF Life Members! SHS DRESS CODE will be enforced. The final practice at the Save Mart Center will begin at 8AM, Friday June 8, 2018. Be prompt at 7:45AM! Bus transportation to graduation practice will depart at 7:15AM from the gym parking lot! Practice will last until 12:00PM, but may be extended as necessary.
Behavioral Expectations – Students will be expected to adhere to the same behavioral standards required by Sanger High School even after completion of school finals. This includes all senior activities including, but not limited to, Grad Nite, Senior Meeting, Senior Barbecue, and graduation practices. If a student commits a suspendable offense, he/she will not participate in the graduation ceremony and will forfeit all senior activities. Conduct Requirements During Graduation – It is an honor and privilege to be able to participate in the graduation ceremony at Sanger High School. Proper conduct is essential during both graduation practice and the ceremony itself. Excessive talking, yelling, throwing of any object, being under the influence of (or in possession of) any controlled substance, use of firecrackers, or the display of any overt act (including cell phone use) which is distracting or disruptive to the ceremony will not be tolerated. Since participation in Sanger High School’s graduation is a privilege and not a right, any student not following the conduct requirements will be removed from the ceremony. Our priority is that the Class of 2018 enjoys this special night and is able to look back at their graduation ceremony and Sanger High School diploma with pride.
Graduation Day – Arrive at the Save Mart Center no later than 5:45PM. Students will not be allowed to carry any personal items with them. This includes, but is not limited to, cell phones, wallets, purses, cameras, make-up products, lanyards, etc. Car keys are the only exception. Dress code for graduation –
In addition to SUSD dress code, the following will be enforced:
MALE permitted attire:
Shirts with collars, dress slacks, dress shoes/boots and socks
FEMALE permitted attire:
Dresses, dress pants w/coordinated top, dress shoes / dress sandals
NOT Permitted:
Jeans, tennis/athletic shoes, flip flops, shorts, cutoffs, sunglasses, facial piercings
Only graduation gowns and caps are appropriate attire for the ceremony. STUDENTS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO DECORATE THEIR CAP OR GOWN. No other types of apparel will be allowed without prior approval from administration. Students will be searched upon entering the Save Mart Center. Recessional – We will have a recessional following the presentation of the Class of 2018. Parents will be able to meet their graduates on the lawn on the south side of the Save Mart Center near Shaw Ave. No one will be allowed to greet the graduates on the floor of the Save Mart Center. To help locate graduates after they exit the arena, alphabetical signs referring to last names will be posted in the lawn area. Diploma Hand Out – Diplomas will be issued immediately following the graduation ceremony as students exit the arena. Students who do not participate in the ceremony may pick up their diplomas on Monday, June 12th, from 8:00AM – 3:30PM in the guidance office. Parking Fees – $5.00 autos $15.00 limos $25.00 RV’s Pictures – Students who are purchasing cap and gown pictures must arrive by 5:00 pm at the Save Mart Center ramp. All other students must arrive by 5:45 pm. General Notes •
All guests will be subject to search by Save Mart personnel

No balloons or air horns are allowed inside the Save Mart Center
•
Save Mart personnel will be selling concessions including snacks and beverages
•
No outside food or beverages will be allowed
•
No saving seats
•
No signs larger than 2’x3’ are allowed; signs cannot obstruct other guests’ views
