Homam (Havan), the well-known divine ritualism of the Vedas, encompasses four essential factors (1) the Deity invoked to whom the oblations are offered. In Bhagwad Gita, Lord Krishna elaborates with a wider and more universal significance. The Vedic Homam (Havan) represents “a selfdedicated activity performed in a spirit of service of the many”.
