Sarah Lisbon, Courage Girls 01 Pride - The 01 Pride girls of the Classic Program made the long trip to Shepherdstown, WV this week to play the EPIC Intensity in a rain soaked battle. Due to the long trip and several injuries on the team, the 01 Pride team only had 12 players available for the game. Sarah Lisbon, a player in only her second full season of travel soccer and
generally a reserve/role player, seized the opportunity and made the most of all of her extra playing time. Sarah is very fast, but from a technical standpoint, she is very raw. In today's game, all of her dedicated practice time and determination finally came together in a game situation. Sarah played nearly the entire game in a holding midfield role where she used her natural speed and aggressiveness to win most 50/50 balls... but, it was what she did with those wins that truly showed her improvement. Once Sarah would win possession, she was able to not only retain possession, but she was able to distribute the ball well to her teammates. Thanks to Sarah's excellent control of the midfield, the 01 Pride girls were able to secure a well-earned 4-2 victory. Sarah's positive attitude at all times is welcome change of pace and her hard work is a true inspiration to the rest of the team. Congratulations Sarah
on a well-played game! Sabrina Faiqe, Courage Girls 00 Redprovided great energy when in the game, made good decision and was disciplined when pressing especially when deciding when to win the ball and when to delay. Emilio Ayala Boys 2001 USSDA - Played all 160 minutes in a 1-1 draw against DC United and 3-1 win, including the game winning goal at PA Classics. Tireless defending and quality leadership both on and off the field. Also rainbowed-megged a
Dale Walker Courage Boys 01 Red - Has be consistently playing better and better each match throughout the spring. He is doing what is asked of him at the center midfield role. Dale has been settling the game down when he touches the ball, changing the point of attack on the dribble and with passes and has been strong in the air. Dale really stepped up in the 3 game round of the elite 8 in the State Cup competition. It has been great to see him playing with confidence. Courage Girls 05 White- Bianca McIntosh-, she has been working really hard at games and practices... Losing or winning she doesn't stop.
We lost 3-0 but we should've won, we missed like 20-30 chances on scoring.
Jairo Larios- Courage Boys 05 Black- Jairo played back to back games this past weekend, mostly playing the 2 and the 3 positions Jairo was a force to be reckoned with. Jairo won countless 50-50 balls and did a great job connecting with his 7,10 and 11.
