Preparation of windows crooves to housebalances canbe in either framejambsor in sashstiles,roundedor square andmustbeof minimum dimensions
shown(Figs.1&2). Bottomof sashesshouldbe preparedto suit balance foot attachmentto be used.cut-outsto he sufficient depth to receiveattachmentsand screwheads.

Installing Balances It is important to notethat shortbalances are usedfor top sashandlongbalances for bottom sash, assuming sashes areof equalheight.
Fixingtravelstops Fixtravelstopsprovided,the shorteroneat the top of the bottomsashrun.(SeeFig.11). In the caseof non-standard applications special stopsmaybe required. In suchcasessuitable longer timberstopsshouldbe substitutedfor the standard metaltypesupplied. Theseshouldbe tongenough to preventthe balance from beingextendedby morethantwice its tube length. IMPORTANT FAILURE TOFITTRAVEL STOPS MAY RESULT IN BALANCE FAILURE. Top TravelStop
