Date: September 1, 2016 To all Parents/Guardians of Great Futures Charter High School: On behalf of the entire staff here at Great Futures Charter High School for the Health Sciences, we would like to wish all families a Happy New Year. This letter is being sent home to inform all students and their families of the implementation of Saturday detention. Saturday detention will be held every other Saturday. Students will be assigned Saturday detention for infractions against our Student Code of Conduct. The terms of Saturday Detention are as follows:
Families will be informed of Saturday Detention assignments at least three (3) days prior to the expected date. Saturday Detention will begin promptly at 8:00 am. Students will be permitted entry to the school beginning at 7:45 am. Any students arriving after 8:00 am will not be admitted and will receive an out-of-school suspension for the following Monday. Students will be dismissed from Saturday Detention at 11:00 am. Students MUST report to Saturday Detention in full school uniform. Transportation to and from the school for Saturday Detention is the responsibility of the student and family. No food, drink, or electronic devices will be permitted during Saturday Detention. Students will be required to submit devices upon entry. Refusal will result in dismissal from Saturday and out-of-school suspension for the following Monday.
