General Rules - Who Can Participate:
Amateurs only, please (must not derive income from cooking/baking) Open to ALL AGES Family participation encouraged (caregiver/parent and child, siblings, etc.) Agencies/organizations can create a TEAM entry
Registration: Pre-registration application, recipe, and $5 fee required to be received at 18 Seward Ave. Ste. 300, Middletown, NY 10940 or postmarked end of business on 7/17/17. Application is available on our website or call 845-344-1234. Entry reception: Entries must arrive no earlier than 12:00 pm at the Park on 7/29/17. NO entry will be accepted after 1:30 pm.
Fruit Pie Bake-Off All fruit used in pie must have been grown in Orange County. Exhibitor must use KING ARTHUR FLOUR; please bring bag of flour or UPC label to bake-off. Every entrant must provide a recipe on an 8½ x 11 inch piece of paper. Include where fruit was obtained. Every pie must be a 2 crust pie – the top crust may be a lattice top crust. No crumb crusts. Non-refrigerated items only (no custards, cheese, egg, lard, or meringues) - no refrigeration available. Baker is responsible to take home their entry after judging and awards.
Judging: Judging of all entries will begin promptly at 2 pm on Saturday, July 29, 2017. Prizes will be awarded based on the following criteria: • Flavor • Texture and outside characteristics/appearance • Creativity
Prizes: 1st place: $75 gift certificate to the Baker's Catalogue/ kingarthurflour.com. 2nd place: $50 gift certificate to the Baker's Catalogue/ kingarthurflour.com. 3rd place: King Arthur Flour Logo Canvas Tote Bag.
