Saturday, May 17, 2014 on the Ohio & Erie Canal Towpath
Registration begins at 8:30 to 9:15, walk begins at 9:30 Rain or Shine! Join us as we walk the beautiful towpath beginning just behind the Spaghetti Warehouse on South Main Street in downtown Akron. Our one-mile walk will end at the OPEN M Neighborhood Center, where you’ll be treated to refreshments, calypso band, face painting and more! The reception is family friendly, so bring the entire family for a morning of fun, fundraising and fellowship.
We have a HUGE Goal! $20,000
We need YOU to become a team captain or walker and to find donors who will support this event. Companies, civic groups, choirs, student organizations – everyone is welcome to bring their own team of walkers. Our goal is to have each walker raise $100 by asking friends, relatives and co-workers for donations. Most walkers raise much more than that! The money raised will help our children programs (Building Blocks and Continuing Education at OPEN M) and provide medical, food, and group support to families of Summit County.
