Roger Hutchison is Director of Christian Formation and Parish Life at Palmer Memorial Episcopal Church in Houston, TX.. An artist, his first book, The Painting Table: A Journal of Loss and Joy, has been used by people of all ages in schools, churches, and community groups across the United States. His artwork has been exhibited throughout the world, and he regularly offers workshops for children, youth, and adults on how to express their thoughts and relationship with God through the art of painting with one's hands, making it accessible to all. Roger’s second book, Under the Fig Tree: Visual Prayers and Poems for Lent was released in December 2015 and is already a Church Publishing, Inc. best seller. Awarded in 2014 with the "Governor's Order of the Silver Crescent," South Carolina's highest civilian honor for volunteer or community service, Roger resides in Sugar Land, Texas with his wife and their daughter.

Welcome to Liturgy Leadership Festival 2016! It is a great opportunity for those in liturgy in our congregations to gather and enhance their skills, or learn new ones. This year, we are pleased to have Roger Hutchison, Writer and Artist, with us. He will lead two workshops called Come to the Table – a painting table session. NO EXPERIENCE REQUIRED. Cost is $20 per person and lunch is included. ADDED BONUS: If 5 members of your congregation attend, a 6th person can attend for free! Thurifer Classes – Each church is asked to bring a thurible IF YOU HAVE ONE. No boat or incense. Acolyte Masters – Bring your banners, streamers, and stands, along with your acolytes’ robes.
