Georgetown Law is dedicated to providing as many financing options for LL.M. students as possible. Below you will find details on a number of our unique scholarship opportunities. General Merit Scholarship Georgetown Law awards a small number of partial merit based scholarships for applicants to the LL.M. To be eligible for consideration for a scholarship, applicants must submit a completed LL.M. application, applying on a full-time basis, no later than February 9, 2018. (awards will be made on a rolling basis starting in early March). Georgetown will select applicants for awards on the basis of their LL.M. application. DAJV Scholarship DAJV will nominate two candidates for 50% tuition scholarships to pursue an LL.M. program at Georgetown Law. Nominees are still required to follow the normal application process and meet all admission criteria to Georgetown Law in order to receive full consideration for the scholarship. Graduate Tax Scholars Each year the Law Center chooses a small number of exceptional full-time Taxation LL.M. students as Graduate Tax Scholars. Students are selected based on their demonstrated interest in tax policy and their potential to excel in tax scholarship. Scholars receive full or partial tuition awards and participate in an enrichment program with leading tax practitioners and government officials. KPMG Tax Scholarship The KPMG Tax Scholarship is made possible by the generosity of the tax professionals at KPMG and by matching grants from the KPMG Foundation. The award is based on merit and potential for success in the field of taxation. Leonard B. Terr Memorial Scholarship In honor of the late Leonard B. Terr, a former Tax Partner at Baker & McKenzie and an Adjunct Professor of Law, this $50,000 annual scholarship provides tuition assistance for a Tax LL.M. student who has demonstrated financial need, displays a commitment to pursuing a career in tax law and who embodies Georgetown's ideals of service to others. Kronstein Scholarship (Switzerland) Established for Swiss students, the Kronstein scholarship has been set up in commemoration of Heinrich Kronstein who taught at Georgetown between 1942 and 1967; it is organized as a Swiss foundation and is funded today by alumni who have been granted the scholarship and have attended Georgetown University (the first recipient received a scholarship in 1958). International Arbitration Scholars Each year, a small number of students will be selected as Georgetown Law International Arbitration Scholars, based on their academic and professional backgrounds and a demonstrated interest in the subject area. Scholars will receive partial to full tuition scholarships for their LL.M. studies, and will, over the course of their LL.M., participate in a Colloquium with the objective of developing a research topic and producing a paper of publishable quality under the supervision of a professor. National Security Law Scholars Each year, a small number of students will be selected as Georgetown Law National Security Law Scholars, based on their academic and professional backgrounds and a demonstrated interest in the subject area. Scholars will receive partial to full tuition scholarships for their LL.M. studies, and may extend their stay at Georgetown for an optional second year research fellowship. Global Health Law Scholars The Global Health Law Program offers a limited number of Global Health Law scholarships per academic year to students pursuing an LL.M. degree in Global Health Law. Global Health Law Scholars, in addition to the title, will receive full or partial tuition awards.
