Utilizing built in Signature Analysis and real-time data processing, Sciemetric’s 200 product family and its operating software InspeXion® combine together to provide verification of the assembly quality of automotive cylinder heads. Compatible with test stations equipped with a variety of non-contact sensors such as focused beam ultrasonic or focal laser, a Sciemetric Signature Analysis System provides an unparalleled approach to key detection and valve stem measurement. The system conditions and acquires sensor inputs as the fixture performs a series of longitudinal and/or latitudinal scans across the top of an engine head. Depending on sensor type and mechanical fixturing, InspeXion® is capable of determining the integral parts of the intake and exhaust valves and their relative displacement. Performing 100% sampled data processing and Signature Analysis, compensating for variations in sensor orientation and alignment by implementing built in mathematical functions to normalize waveforms, and comparing segmented waveform data against statistically derived or user defined limit windows, the system provides reliable real-time pass/fail results.

Robustly packaged within an industrialized, stand-alone chassis, the Sciemetric Signature Analysis System is also able to utilize its integrated networking support for information and data exchange with down stream assembly and test stations and repair bays, resulting in significant time and cost reductions. Comprehensive and graphical representation of specimen profile, user definable operator menu system, and on-screen setup and diagnostics rounds out a highly intuitive HMI and dependable solution to this unique application.
