SCIENCE KEY STAGE 3 Year 7 and Year 8 students follow a combined practical course that is based on the ‘Activate’ programme. (Oxford University Press) Assessment Regular tests throughout the course.
KEY STAGE 4 GCSE Triple Science This course is taught separately as Biology, Chemistry and Physics by highly qualified subject specialists, and will lead to three separate CGSEs in those subjects. It is highly suitable for students who may wish to go on to study A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics. Assessment 6 examinations: 2 in each subject taken at the end of Year 11. There will be NO coursework element.
GCSE Double Combined Science The course is made up of topics from Biology, Chemistry and Physics, and will lead to the award of two GCSEs in Combined Science. It is suitable for students who may wish to go on to study either A Levels in Biology, Chemistry and Physics or BTEC Level 3 Applied Science. Assessment 6 examinations taken at the end of Year 11. There will be NO coursework element.
