Olympic Training Center UNM Athletics Department Scope of Work For Architectural and Engineering Design Services Scope: The UNM Athletics Department Olympic Weight Training Center is new construction designed to replace the current Olympic 8,000 sf training tent with a 12,700 gross sq. foot prefabricated metal building providing an 10,000 net sf weight and cardio training room, 2 offices for 3 staff, 2 restrooms and building support rooms for electrical, mechanical, IT and custodial services. The building will be designed to accommodate an attached 20’ x 150’ (3,000 gross sf) exterior plyometric training area with a fenced and shed roof enclosure and adjacent equipment storage room as an add alternate to the Phase 1 development. The Firms facility plan, design and construction documents and cost containments should work to maximize the development of the Plyometric area in Phase 1. The total site should be engineered to accommodate the full build out with a phase 2 addition of a 5,000 food and event center. Preparation of detailed design through construction documents for the phase 1 weight training center and Plyometric area with site design to accommodate the phase 2 5,000 gross sf event addition is included in the Basic Services scope of work. This request for bid for services provides additional guidance for the Project design in Attachment A- UNM Athletics Department Olympic Training Center Project Program 10-26-16. Project Budget: Total project estimated costs for construction of Phase I will be part of the design and site engineering and prefabricated building teams responsibility. Estimators will work with UNM Planning Design and Construction Project Management to develop and verify total project MACC and soft costs. Project Information: UNM Planning, Design & Construction (PDC) has completed an Owner’s Program Requirements dated October 26, 2016 to guide the design and construction of the Project. This document provides the following information: goals of the project; details about the features and amenities that UNM anticipates will be included in the Project; project organization; the proposed project schedule; and the scope of Additional Special Services. Please refer to this document included as Attachment “A”. Contracted Services Architect/engineer team to produce a set of construction documents for permit. UNM Planning Design and Construction, (PDC) will provide project management services Architectural and Engineering services do NOT include furniture and equipment as part of the projects A&E scope of work. The Architectural firm is required to work with the UNM PDC and UNM Athletics’ department who will be providing the furniture and equipment packages and

utilize existing equipment and furniture as the budget requires. The A&E firm is required to work with PDC and Athletics Department staff to accommodate the selection of furniture and equipment for reuse and incorporate selected items in the design for the prefabricated building. Project Oversight: PDC will manage the design and construction process on behalf of the client. Included is budget management; procurement and invoice approvals for all vendors, service providers and contractors; coordination with UNM PPD Facilities Maintenance and UNM IT, PDC Furniture Designer PPD Engineering; schedule preparation and adherence; all other tasks required to successfully complete the project. 1. Hire an architect/engineer team to produce a set of construction documents for permit. 2. Obtain construction bids for the work and supervise the design work. 3. Coordinate the furniture and equipment selections and any associated design criteria. Design Process: 1. UNM-PDC planners have developed and finalized the program for the new Phase 1 facility. 2. The A&E firm is responsible for Schematic Design, Design Development through Construction Documents. 3. The A&E will provide detailed site and 100% construction bid materials. 4. Site development plans will include grading and drainage plans, paving, parking and loading access to the new structure, and utility connections for phase 1 development with accommodation for the planned phase 2 addition. 5. A&E will follow UNM Guidelines and Standards for design and development. 6. A&E will follow UNM document and review submittal procedures. 7. Once full construction funds are available PDC will manage the construction contracting and process. MANDATORY PRE-PROPOSAL CONFERENCE Date: January 31, 2017 Time: 3:00 MDST Location: The McDavid Lounge located in the southeast corner of The Pit located at 1111 University Blvd. SE, Albuquerque, NM 87131. Access: Parking located to the South of the lounge. Enter through the glass door in the SE corner which has signage for the lounge. The conference will provide proposers an opportunity to discuss the project and RFP requirements with UNM. Potential proposers are encouraged to submit written questions in advance of the conference. The identity of the organization submitting the question(s) will not be revealed. Additional written and oral questions may be submitted at the conference. All questions will be addressed at the conference. A public log will be kept of the names of potential proposers that attended the pre-proposal conference. A guided site visit will be provided after the conference.

Attendance at the pre-proposal conference is mandatory.
