League and Open Scramble Challenge: And the Winners Are... Three teams fought to a three-way tie at Saratoga Spa Golf Course in the Chapter's annual League Challenge, with net scores of 69 on the Championship Course. So the battle turned into a card match refereed by Event Captain Annette Kahler and course golf professionals, while players munched on their BBQ ribs and chicken. And the winners are... GRAND CHAMPIONS--STADIUM THURSDAY, Rachel Swire, Natalie Cole, Maureen McHugh, Liz Gaudet 2nd Place--CAPITAL HILLS TUESDAY, Cheryl Watts, Natalia Bausback, Michele Endries, Christine Vooris 3rd Place--CAPITAL HILLS THURSDAY, Katie Vitello, Michele Walls, Elaine Ramundo, Julie Naglieri On the Par 3 Course, a low gross score of 64 was posted by the GRAND CHAMPIONS--MILL ROAD WEDNESDAY, Terri-Ann Montayne, Jacquelyn Grenier, Marie Occhiogrosso, and Courtney Schingledecker. The Purple Putters also took tournament-wide best-dressed--no card match needed there! Open Scramble Winners Championship Course 1st Place (net 71)--Capital Hills Thursday Backups, Jennifer Shoemaker, Denise DeCarlo, Stephanie Brown, Terri Walsh 2nd Place (net 75)--The Fab Three, Helena Marsh, Carol Speranza, Marilyn Martin Par 3 Course 1st Place (gross 69)--Mary Ellen Shea, Shelley Lavinia, Kristine Kelly, Annette Chism

EWGA Championship Series: Onward to Nationals! Five--count 'em, five!--chapter members have made their way to Hot Springs Village, Arkansas--yup, Arkansas!--for stroke play competition in the 2017 EWGA Championship Finals on October 6-7. Our national competitors advanced from the Northeastern Semi-Finals outside Rochester in August on the basis of gross and net placing in their flights. Our delegates (posing, from left, with their trophies from our Chapter Championship last June) and their Finals flights are Michele Walls and Pat Reynolds (First Flight), Terri Walsh and Denise DeCarlo (Third Flight), and Cathie Becker (Fourth Flight).
