Class Description: Make a statement with this scrappy quilt! Squares, made of triangles, make a quilt. It’s simple. This pattern is scrap and strip friendly!
Supplies Needed: 1 fat pack 2 ½” strips (if you are cutting your own you need a minimum of 38 strips 19 light, and 19 dark) 5/8 yard material for block centers and border cornerstones* *if desired you can use charm packs, if you use charm packs, the border cornerstone pieces can be made with the material chosen for block corners 1 1/8 yard of light material (for corners of blocks) 1 1/8 yard of dark material (for corners of blocks) ¾ yard for first border 1 ¼ yard for third border
Other Supplies Needed: Cutting Mat and Rotary Cutter with New Blade Creative Grids 6 ½ x 12 ½ Ruler (CTH#560057) ¼” Foot for your machine Scissors-Pins-Seam Ripper Thread to Piece (Neutral Color) Machine in Good Working Order New Universal 80/12 Needle or for Batiks 70/10 Travel Iron and Ironing Pad (always a good thing!)
Pre Class work: Sort your 2 ½” strips into light and dark Cut 60 – 4 7/8” squares out of the light 1 1/8 yard material (keep the extra material!) Cut 60 – 4 7/8” squares out of the dark 1 1/8 yard material (keep the extra material!!)
