CROP MANAGEMENT AND FEEDING LEVELS 5. DNZ’s crop calculator was used to allocate crops to cows. The crop residuals will be monitored daily and adjustments made if necessary. Over utilising crops will prevent weight gain, so a balance must be maintained. 6. Cows were offered 14.6kgDM/day and heifers 9.8 kgDM after adjustments. 7. The intakes on swedes were lower than expected and less area was offered than originally allocated to reduce wastage. This will be monitored on a daily basis and reported weekly.
