“Give me your mean face!” are the words that Head Coach TJ Gaylord jokingly demands from Logan Griffin, his star defenseman on the Mite C travel team.

played forward in the past, but he has found his niche in the defensive zone. He likes to protect his goalie, but he also enjoys breaking the puck out of his zone. Logan, a Hull elementary school student, is now playing in his third season with the SeaHawks. Logan made himself available for an interview at a recent Skills session at Connell Rink. After graciously agreeing to share a bit about himself with the members of SeaHawks Nation, Logan beamed, and said, “I’m going to the Lobster Pot Tournament!” Logan Griffin will serve The Nation well!

Chris Mullen is the Athletic Director for the South Shore SeaHawks. In current sports terms, that means he’s the director of all on-ice hockey operations: level directors, coaches, team decisions, etc.. all fall under his umbrella. Chris played for Plymouth Youth Hockey, Archbishop Williams, then for Suffolk University. He is a well-known face in SeaHawks Nation. Chris is using this forum to answer FAQs.

Question: How do I get involved in coaching or volunteering for the 2017-18 season?

Answer: The SeaHawks are always looking for coaches. Reach out to any coach or board member (use the website www.southshoreseahawks.org ) for guidance. You don’t need a prestigious hockey resume to be a volunteer coach. Women coaches are encouraged! All SeaHawks coaches are required to abide by USA Hockey guidelines for level certification. This ensures that your child will get the best possible instruction and knowledge. If anyone is “on the fence” about coaching, please make an inquiry to learn more via personal discussion. There are other ways parents can contribute. Board of Director (via election) positions are available each year. Simply put your name on the ballot and provide a blurb about yourself to the voters of SeaHawk Nation. This takes place after the season. Also, “team parents” are great ways to assist coaches with email and team events. Get involved!
