June 2010 Dear Candidate, Thank you for your interest in filing for a position with The University of Texas at San Antonio Student Government Association (SGA). The Student Government Association is one of the best ways to get involved and make a difference at UTSA. SGA is seeking motivated and committed students to run for College Senator positions. Before turning in this application, please carefully read over the following information that outlines the election process and the obligations you will assume if elected. Positions available for the 2010-2011 Academic Year during this General Election:

Candidate Requirements All candidates must have and maintain a cumulative UTSA GPA of 2.25 for undergraduate students and 3.0 GPA for graduate students. All candidates must submit the following to the Office of Student Activities by Friday, September 3, 2010 @ 5:00pm Fall 2010 Election Filing Form, Fall 2010 Candidate Declaration Form, Fall 2010 Candidate Bio Form, SGA Election Form All candidates who file for an office must attend the Candidate Seminar on Tuesday, September 7, 2010 from 3:00pm4:00pm in the Harris Room. The Judicial Branch of SGA will give an overview of the rules and regulations Please read and follow the Election Code and Posting Policies carefully. By filing for this election, you are agreeing to abide by the SGA Election Code and Posting Policies. You understand that you are subject to sanctions by the Judicial Branch. All campaign materials must be removed from bulletin boards and other approved areas within 3 days after the election results are posted. Failure to remove campaign materials within this time period may result in a fine. SGA Expectations of Members If elected, you will be expected to attend all General Assembly Meetings, which are currently held every Thursday evening at 5:30pm. If elected an Executive Officer, you will also be expected to attend all Executive Officer weekly meetings. If you are unable to attend either of these meetings, please consider serving SGA in another capacity. Executive Officers are required to work a minimum of 3 hours per week (5 for President) and Senators are required to work a minimum of 1 hour per week in the SGA Office. All members are required to attend SGA sponsored events, including the Fall Retreat September 24-26, the SGA Banquet and the University Life Awards. Again, thank you for your interest in SGA.
