See our Italian corner with a plate from Italy and 2 gold-tone angels holding shapes from a vineyard. Lots of new jewelry – plus new crosses are on display. There is still a purse and several evening bags available. As always, a good supply of greeting cards are in the cabinet ALL ECW – You don’t want to miss the MEMORY & AGING program at St. Nathaniel’s Episcopal Church, Sept. 25 (9:00 am to 1:00 pm). This educational event will focus on normal memory changes with aging; differences in types of memory losses; diagnosis process; caregiving; and spiritual resources. "Brain Food" samples will be offered during refreshments. Please SIGN UP on the church bulletin board by Sept. 17. For more info, contact Susan Board at 813-728-4266.
Anyone New to Good Shepherd - If you are new to our church please stop by the office Monday thru Thursday 9-4 to introduce yourself and give us your contact information. Name Badges – To purchase a name badge see Dawn Thibeault before or after the 10:00 service or contact Angie in the church office during office hours. The cost is $10.00 per badge. The holiday bazaar will be held on Saturday, November 7, 2015. We already have several great items for the raffle table, but still need someone to take charge of it. We can never have enough help, so if you have not signed up and would like to volunteer let me know. If you have items for the Elegant Elephant table or want to donate to the raffle you can let me know that as well. Thanks in advance for helping make this a great event. Safeguarding God’s Children Safeguarding God’s Children class will be offered during the Diocese of SWFL Annual Convention in Punta Gorda on October 16. It’s recommended for anyone who works with children or seniors, including lay Eucharistic Visitors. The certification lasts for 5 years and can be renewed online. The class is offered on 10/16/15 from 9:30 am to noon. Please see Angie in the office (call or e-mail) to sign up ASAP.
NEW WEBSITE: http://goodshepherdpuntagorda.dioswfl.org/ We have created a new website that lines up with the Diocese of SWFL’s website. It is still a work in progress, especially the school sites. I should have all the sermons and announcements loaded by Friday, 9/11. Please let me know if you have any suggestions, pictures I can upload, or any other information (maybe a good place for notes about ECW meetings, I can add events that will appear on the right side, etc. )Thanks, Angie
The Church Ladies~! The Church Ladies gather every Thursday evening for the chance to laugh, smile, talk and relax. All ladies are invited to this fun night out. This Thursday, Sep 24th – Celtic Ray Irish Pub, 145 E Marion, Punta Gorda. We can start to arrive about 6PM and get our orders in by 6:30PM. ~!!Please call, email or message me, Carolyn Brenner - 941286-4100 or [email protected]. Let me know if you would like to join us~!! I need a head count by Wednesday MORNING if possible!! If you have a friend or someone at church you know, ask then to join us too.
The Church Ladies~! It’s never too soon to plan for our last night out for the year. Please make a note of DEC 3rd and plan to join in the fun~!! Every Christmas in the past several years has been a successful and I would love to make this year even better~!! Plans are in the works and the first thing I will need is a head count as soon as possible. Places book in advance and also usually ask for deposits and minimum amount of people to be present. They also limit the menu, but if we get enough ladies, this is something we will NOT have with PLAZA MEXICO~!!! They have promised us the back room exclusively. So please give me a reply so I can get the count for our party~!! Ask your friends at church that may not get these emails too please. More plans for the fun will follow as soon as the date is confirmed~!!
