Moore Ministering in Ireland August/September 2017 Prayer Update Dear praying friends, Once again we have found that time has passed so quickly. We wanted to send out an update to cover some exciting things that have happened the last two months.
We had a good visit with Tom and Cris Geer who have been involved in children’s ministry for decades. They spent a weekend with us and helped by running a youth activity and conducting children’s worker training for our church. This is very important for us as we continue to see our church people get more involved in youth ministry. Josh also had a very productive meeting with our region’s volunteer centre. We have now initiated a process whereby we can have any youth workers vetted by An Garda Síochána (police).
Carrick Baptist Church celebrated our five year anniversary on September 2. We are excited about how God will continue to direct us as we serve Him together as a church family. Please continue to pray for us as we look for a larger building which we can move into.
Since our last letter, Annie hosted a lady’s meeting at the church and Josh held a men’s breakfast at the church. Both of these meetings went very well and we continue to see a wonderful unity among our people.
One of the teenage girls at the church placed her faith in Christ a few months ago. She is hungering more and more for the Word of God and attends church faithfully. She began inviting her parents and brother. Her father and brother visited church for the first time a few weeks ago! Josh spent 45 minutes at lunch after the morning service answering her brother’s questions. It was a deep theological conversation (especially for a boy who is only 11 years old!), but it shows that he and his father are really considering the gospel and are close to placing their faith in Christ. Please pray for
their salvation. The whole family plans to begin attending regularly. This was very exciting for our church, especially one of our core families who has been reaching out to this visiting family for months and has built a relationship with them.
Please also pray for us as have begun going through a discipleship series with a faithful family in our church. Our goal is to see them grow in their walk so that they can begin taking their kids and then other people in the church through this discipleship material. We are seeing much growth in their walk!
Annie’s parents were able to visit for about two weeks. We had a nice visit with them and they enjoyed seeing their grandchildren. Josh’s parents will be coming for a visit also, next month.
Eva and Cian are growing quickly! Eva has begun to take her first steps this past week! And, Annie has begun doing some pre-schooling with Cian (3 years old). Cian has also really started to come out of his shell and be bold in talking with people. Pray that God would work in our children’s lives and use them for His glory.
God is so good to us. We are so grateful for your faithful prayers and support. We are greatly encouraged by all of you “holding the ropes.”
