September 2017 Serger Club Supply List Beginning and Ending The Seam—Serger Techniques We will be reviewing our beginning and ending the seam techniques as well as, making a pillowcase. In October we will be finishing our technique kit and cutting out our November projects. 

Bring to Club: 



Serger with power cord and foot control—-Threaded for a 4 thread overlock stitch with your color threads that match the color threading code for your machine.  Accessories---that came with your machine—-including the 2 thread converter/ subsidiary looper.  Any extra feet for your machine**  Everything on the Serger Club Basic Supply List Notions:



Technique kit** (supplied at class) $15.00 Learn Simple Serging by Diana Cedolia** Thread snips** or scissors** Needles:   

 



Universal size 80/12** or 90/14**

Threads:  4 spools Standard Serger threads** to match the color threading code for your machine and  4 spools Standard Serger threads** or 4 spools Mettler Polyester threads** to match your pillowcase fabric.  1 spool of sulky 12wt. Blendable** or sulky 30wt. solid or Blendable** in a color you will use again. Fabrics:  

Provided in your kit. For the pillowcase— 3/4 yard fabric for pillowcase body/main piece——cut to 27”x40” 1/3 yard for cuff——-cut to 10”X40” 1/8 yard for accent band——-cut to 2”X40”

Overlock/Serger Machine in good working order and threaded according to monthly Supply List 

Power Cord and Foot Control



Accessories---that came with your machine



Optional---Any extra Feet that you received with your machine or purchased for your machine**

Needles---type and size according to monthly Supply List --

most of the time it will be Universal size 80/12**



For Babylock owner’s---bring a supply of 75/11 and 90/14 in the type of needles that your machine requires**



Thread---according to monthly Supply List



Notions-According to monthly Supply List and:





Long pair of tweezers**



John James Bodkin Set**



Small pair of scissors**



Dritz 1/4” Wonder tape** or Collins Basting tape**



Fabric Glue Stick---water soluble **(my favorite is the one by Sewline**)



Frey Check/Fray Block**



Glass head straight pins**



Optional (but helpful)---needle threader**, Looper threader**

Fabric---according to monthly Supply List and any SCRAPS that are left over for test sewing
