SERIES 1000 FUME CUPBOARDS The Series 1000 has been designed as a cost effective, general purpose fume cupboard giving maximum work area for minimum bench space.
TYPICAL SPECIFICATION Fume cupboards shall be Conditionaire “SAFE-TEE” Series 1000, bench-mounted type and shall comply with Australian Standards AS/NZS2243.8, AS/NZS2430.3.6, AS1530.3, AS3000 and AS2208. Fume cupboard model numbers and dimensions shall be as scheduled. The fume cupboard chamber shall be constructed of “ASAH®” material with all internal corners radiused. Where alternative materials of construction are offered they must achieve, as a minimum, the following results when tested to AS12530-3 of:

Ignitability not greater than 0 Spread of flame not greater than 0 Heat evolved not greater than 0 Smoke developed not greater than 4
The working base shall be “ASAH®” and form an integral part of the fume chamber with radiused corners and incorporating an anti-spill lip. When alternate base materials are selected they shall be fully sealed to the chamber and radiused. Removable work bases or those which incorporate a sump will not be acceptable. The, vertically sliding, sash front shall be 6mm toughened glass supported from the bottom by a full length aerofoil shaped handle attached to counter weights by stainless steel cables. The cables shall run on ball bearing centred pullies to weights concealed in aero-foil shaped anodised aluminium columns fitted to the front of the fume chamber. Sash cables must be attached to the lifting mechanism at the bottom, not to the glass, and the sash weights must be accessible from the front of the unit. The fume cupboard shall be fitted with “ASAH®” baffles which shall be preset and non-adjustable to achieve even airflow through the face opening. They shall be easily removable without the use of any tools. The fume cupboard shall be fitted with a 30W HPF fluorescent light mounted externally on top of the fume cupboard and separated from the fume area by a sealed 6mm toughened glass panel. The lighting shall give a minimum of 400 lx at the work surface. The fume cupboard shall be fitted with a Conditionaire “SAFE-TEE” fume cupboard control system with LCD display panel and which performs all the functions as specified by AS/NZS 2243.8 – Section 2.2. A 10 amp. RCD protected, double GPO shall be fitted to the front of the fume cupboard. Sinks, tundishes, wet and dry services shall be supplied and fitted as per the schedule of requirements and drawings. Remote valves for the wet and dry services shall be positioned so they do not create eddies at the face opening. All fittings in the working base of the fume cupboard must be fully sealed.
