Supplemental Material We will be providing you with supplemental materials to assist you in preparing your session for NAHQ Next. The following materials will be provided, and you will be able to submit in the Presenter Hub after the respective “Available” date.

Planning Outline

Available 4/1; Due 6/12

• What: The Educational Planning Outline details what is happening during your session. Included are: learning outcomes, topics, time, presenter, and teaching methods/learning engagement strategies. NAHQ will provide instructions on how to complete this outline in the Presenter Hub. • Why: It can be used as a planning tool to ensure your session is appropriately balanced with realistic learner expectations and engaging interaction.

Handout Design

Available 7/1; Due 8/2

• What: Handouts are a part of any learning experience. This includes any extra information, tools, or examples the presenter wants the learners to have. (They will not printed but available for the learners to print before and after and on the mobile app.) NAHQ will provide resources and tips for creating and using handouts with your presentation. • Why: Handouts are a great takeaway for the learners. They can either be used during or after the learning experience. A handout extends the learning outside of the session room.

Presentation Design Available: 7/1; Due: 9/5 • What: The actual presentation is just as important as the planning phase. This includes tips and ideas on how to effectively deliver your session and what to keep in mind. • Why: Many aspects of an effective presentation can get overlooked, and presenters default to the basic lecture with heavy slide content. We challenge you to step out of that comfort zone to maximize your learner retention! NAHQ will provide resources and tips to enhance your presentation.
