CLASS DESCRIPTION It’s time to start working on your Night Before Christmas wall hanging. This spectacular tiled embroidery scene is one that you will treasure and put up year after year. Finishing at about 35” high x 25” wide, depending on the border choices you make, it will enhance your Christmas décor. It may be done using traditional Christmas colors or in an alternate “chalkboard” colorway using shades of gray and white on a charcoal background. Either way it is stunning! All work is done in a large oval hoop with a stitching field of about 10” x 6”. Tiles are individually done and then put together. Phyllis will show you the many tips & tricks she has learned while stitching and assembling hers. You must have taken the two-day Beginning Machine Embroidery class or have the equivalent knowledge, be comfortable with your embroidery machine and have advanced beginner experience as a sewist. On the first day of class we will meet for 3 hours to learn the procedure and techniques needed. You are welcome to bring your embroidery machine and supplies if you want to begin stitching the first day to be sure you have the technique mastered. Then you will have over 2 months to complete the tiles at home. We will meet again November 18th for a full day class to assemble your creation. SUPPLIES ▪ Pattern – Night Before Christmas #12592 – purchase at Sew Many Quilts ▪ Background fabric - as directed in pattern or 4 yards for chalkboard using my method. ▪ SF 101 to stabilize background fabric – (Black if making the chalkboard colorway, white if doing the colored colorway.) ▪ Ultra Clean & Tear Stabilizer – 10” ▪ Medium Weight Tear Away Stabilizer, extra Ultra Clean & Tear, or Heavyweight Tear Away ▪ Designs transferred to a USB thumb drive ▪ Isacord threads for the colorway you have chosen – refer to pattern • 0138, 0015, 0131, 0112, 0138, 4174 or color to match background fabric, Yenmet 7005 for chalkboard colorway ▪ Thread Chart PDF printed out (9 pages) ▪ Notebook ▪ Bottom line for bobbin to match background fabric ▪ Basic Embroidery Supplies
▪ Backing and final border fabric (if used) for chalkboard colorway may be purchased later depending on the finish you plan for your artwork. ▪ Sewing machine & embroidery module in good working order if you will be stitching on the first day ▪ Large Oval Hoop ▪ Temporary spray adhesive ▪ Bright colored bobbin for outside seams

CANCELLATIONS: Cancellation must be made 10 days prior to the first day of class for a refund. Cancellation less than 10 days before the first day of class forfeits all registration monies paid. On occasion, Sew Many Quilts will cancel a class due to lack of registration. If Sew Many Quilts cancels this class, you may take a store credit or a refund. To minimize the chance that you will purchase your fabrics and supplies prior to a class that could cancel, we recommend that you call to confirm that the class has met its minimum enrollment and will go on as scheduled. Our recommendation is that you make class purchases within 10 days of the class start date.
