Who Has God Placed in Your Life? Who has God placed in your life in order for you to share the gospel with them? Who are your neighbors? Coworkers? Friends? In preparation for Easter season think of one person (or one family) who you know God is calling you to share and show the good news of the gospel of salvation in Jesus. - Think about the friends, neighbors, and acquaintances around you. - Pray and ask for God to burden your heart for someone. Who is the person/family God has placed in your life? ____________________________ Write what you know about them: __________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ What leads you to believe God has put this person in your life? : ________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________ What do you know about this person/family’s spirituality?: ____________________________ _______________________________________________________________________________

“You did not choose

This is not a venture for us to go into on our own. If we do not abide in Jesus we will not produce ANY fruit. Jesus said, “apart from me you can do NOTHING.” Notice, Jesus’ command in this passage is not to bear fruit. The command is to abide in Jesus. One way that we do this is through prayer. Prayer! Go into, through, finish, and continue sharing the gospel covered with prayer! What you ask in Jesus’ name....... - Ask for God to open doors. (Col 4:2-3) - Ask for God to give you words (Eph 6:19) - Ask God for divine appointments (Acts 8:26-40) - Ask God for boldness (Acts 4:29) ! ! ! !

me, but I chose you and appointed you that you should go and bear fruit and that your fruit should abide, so that whatever you ask the Father in my name, he may give it to you.”

Eat Eating is a culturally universal experience. Eating is one of the most common ways that people fellowship and is a great way to intentionally develop friendships, though it is not the only way. Remember, “Jesus cam eating and drinking.” - Develop genuine friendship/relationship. - Get to know them and learn where they are spiritually. What do they believe? What is their experience? - Listen and learn how God may be working in their lives. What is the best way for you to spend time developing a friendship with the person/family? Be specific (eating, hobbies, etc) : _____________________________ _________________________________________ _________________________________________ What atmosphere might be the best for you to begin a conversation about the gospel? _______________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________

“To develop Jesus’ kind of sensitivity can only be done by having man-to-man or woman-to-woman contact. Unless we stop theorizing and reach out and knock on our neighbors door, we’ll never get to the real nuts and bolts of evangelism. It’s not a superficial, quick relationship or an overnight coup. It involves time and sacrifice, and most of all giving ourselves.” !

Love We all know love is more than a feeling. Respond to the felt needs of the person/family you are trying to reach by: - Spending time with them to deepen the friendship. - Helping him or her at points of need, whatever that !may be. If there is a need that is too big to accomplish ! !alone...ask your LG for help! - Sharing your personal story of salvation and God’s provision as opportunity allows. The good news of Jesus Christ is just that, news! It is meant to be heard. It is a message. It is the news that Jesus Christ, the Son of God, has come to earth to die for our sins. It is the news that he rose from the dead three days later. Make up your mind to share the word of the gospel.

Practice writing out the gospel here: ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ ________________________________________ What passages of scripture can you share that contain the gospel? ________________________________________ 8

EASTER OUTREACH RESOURCE FOR YOUR JOY During the Easter season 2012 we are encouraging you to use the Desiring God booklet, For Your Joy. It is a small booklet that is only about 40 pages long. The goal of using this book is to create a conversation where you have the opportunity to share the gospel. Ways to use the book: -Give the book a few days before a planned lunch meeting. Ask them if they will read it ahead of time and discuss over a meal. -Ask them to come over to your house specifically to talk about the book and share a meal together. -Give the book and ask if they would consider discussing one chapter a week over lunch break at work. - Think about which chapter in the book might correlate the best with the way God is working in their lives right now and use that connect their lives to the book. OUTREACH CARDS You will be provided with postcard sized invitations to our Easter services. There are plenty. We ordered 1,000.
