May Fair This year’s May Fair was attended by a record number of children, families and friends. With fantastic organisation and help from the PTA, we managed to raise over £800 to spend on Katesgrove children!! Many thanks to everyone for making sure the day was so successful.

Sports Day We look forward to welcoming you all into school for Sports Day on Thursday 9th July. Due to the amount of classes and space we will be holding the Key stage 2 events in the morning starting at 09:10 and Key stage 1 and EYFS at 13:05. Both of these will be held on the big playground. Refreshments will be provided for the children.

Forest School Every other Thursday, our Reception children visit Forest School where they look for insects, create natural art, identify trees and flowers and enjoy a hot chocolate. This experience helps them to appreciate the great outdoors and build relationships with other children and staff. Please talk to your children about

their visits and give them a chance to teach you some things about the natural world.

Class Assemblies Another big thank you to all the parents who have attended our Monday Class Assemblies. 288 of you have come in to school to celebrate your children’s work and share a coffee and biscuit with other parents! The children really enjoy sharing their learning with their families and friends.

Once again we are rapidly approaching the end of another school year. As you already know, I will be saying goodbye to you all in July and there are quite a few other members of staff who are moving on to pastures new at the end of this term. We offer our best wishes for the future to Mrs Jones, Mrs Howell, Mrs Ridley, Miss Ellison, Miss Wall, Miss Al-Jazaini, Miss Coulson and Mrs Southern. This term we are also saying a temporary goodbye to Mrs Howarth and Mrs Murphy who are taking some time away from school to be mummies! Although, Mrs Bell, Mrs Cooper and Mrs Lambley will return briefly in September, they too will be starting their maternity leave soon after!! Our Katesgrove mummies group grows ever larger. Mrs Telling and Mrs Davis are very much looking forward to welcoming many new staff to Katesgrove, in September to begin a very exciting new year for the school and the community. I wish all of you best wishes for the future and hope you have a wonderful summer holiday.
