 Simchat Torah Treats are sponsored Shemini Atzeret, Monday, October 5 anonymously in honor of the hard work  Rabbi Adam Starr will speak before Yizkor on the topic “It Ain’t done over the chagim by the YITH Staff Over ‘Til It’s Over”  Rabbi Adam Starr will hold his annual Simchat Torah - Torah Quiz  Mazel Tov! to our Simchat Torah Honorees: Chatan Torah - Rabbi Reuven between mincha and ma’ariv at 7:10pm Travis, Chatan Bereshit - Dr. Paul Simchat Torah, Tuesday, October 6 Oberman, Kol Hane'arim - Rabbi Asher  Women’s Torah Reading & Learning At 11:00am following Yablok hakafot there will be a women’s—only reading of the Torah with Divrei Torah taking place in the Beit Midrash.  Rachel Anisfeld & Myra Brill will give the Dvar Torah at the Davening Schedule women’s Torah reading  Rabbi Adam Starr will give a shiur between mincha and ma’ariv Sunday, Hoshana Rabbah on the topic “Fasting for a Fallen Sefer Torah: Myth, Minhag, or 21 Tishrei, October 4 Halacha?”

Bnei Akiva snif is starting again next week! We are excited to begin the first snif of the year with an extra special snif going into a fun Motzei Shabbat party at the shul on Shabbat/Motzei Shabbat,October 10th with a mifkad esh! Bnei Akiva is for all kids grades 1-8, bring your friends! Hebrew Reading Course We will be offering a Level 1 Hebrew Reading Crash Course, given by Meta Miller, in partnership with the National Jewish Outreach Program, on Tuesdays at 7:30pm from October 13 through December 1. Melton Presents Shiv’im Panim at YITH We are pleased to announce that YITH will be hosting a Melton School class starting in October, taught by our very own Rebecca Winter. Shiv’im Panim year 1 Genesis will be held on Mondays from October 12th-December 21st at 8:00 pm, exploring the themes of family and faith, honor and dishonor, passion and power found in Sefer Bereshit. To sign up for this classe email [email protected] Women’s Only Yoga Classes in October Over Chol Hamoed Sukkot we heard from Sharsheret Director Melissa K. Rosen on the importance of caring for your mental and physical health as part of the battle against breast cancer. To support this effort we will be hosting a women-only Tuesday evening yoga class for all levels in October! You pick the price, all proceeds will be donated to Sharsheret. Tuesday at 8:30pm October 13, 20 and 27. Let us know you’re coming at www.yith.org/yoga YYP Mitzvah Day YITH is participating in Mitzvah Day in conjunction with many Atlanta Jewish organizations, on Sunday, October 25th from 12:30-3:30pm. YITH’s project, open to anyone, is to fix up a nature trail at the Marcus Autism Center just up the street in Toco Hills. Youth Events & Announcements  Shabbat

Youth Groups will be held this week at 10:15am! ** Note To Parents About Shabbat Morning Groups** Gefen (children 14yrs) is located in the far right room off the Social Hall. Zayit (Kindergarten and 1st graders) meets in the far left room off the Social Hall. Rimon (2nd and 3rd grade) meets in the classroom behind the women’s section, and Tamar (4th and 5th grade) meets in the classroom behind the men’s section  Teen Leil Simchat Torah Dinner All high schoolers (grades 9-12) are invited to start the Simchat Torah celebrations with a sushi dinner together on Monday night, October 5th following services!  Bnei Akiva snif is starting again next week!
