Shooting Stars Newsletter September 12-16, 2016 “Shine

like stars in the universe as you hold out the word of life!” Philippians 2:14-16

Dear Shooting Stars Families,

Some of the things we shared this week were how God put a lot of care into making us different and special. We talked about different talents people have. Some of our friends like to sit and look at a book from the first page to the last. Some of our friends would rather build things with blocks, Legos, or at the light table. Some friends really enjoy coloring and some want to finish their work quickly. Even though we might enjoy all of those things, we might enjoy some of them more than others and that’s great! That is what makes us special. Mark your calendar for “A Bountiful Affair” Saturday, November 5, 5:30-9:30 p.m. at the Kern County Fairgrounds. This is St. John’s Lutheran School and Children’s Center 4th Annual Auction & Wine Dinner. Proceeds from this event benefit our schools’ Tuition and Financial Assistants Programs! Our classroom basket is “A Night Shooting for the Stars .” There is a list of suggested items available. Even thought there is a list available, we will take any donation you have to offer. The last day to donate items will be Friday, September , 23rd. FYI, there is a contest for the best classroom basket. Let’s be as creative as we can. = ) Also, if you haven’t noticed there is a “lunch with your child” sign-up on the door. Share this week is something that begins with the letter Cc (or is shaped like a Cc)

May the Lord bless you and keep you daily! Ms. Laura
