Dear Local Business Member, The Annual McMaster Welcome Week Sidewalk Sale is back by popular demand for it's 18th anniversary This year's Sidewalk Sale will be held on Thursday, September 5th, 2013, with a registration and payment deadline set for Friday, August 9th, 2013. Thursday , September 5th marks the first day of class for the 22,000 undergraduates returning to campus for the school year. The annual sidewalk sale is the premiere opportunity to directly access the student market and promote your business and/or services to new undergraduate students. I have enclosed a registration flyer which provides further event details.
Here’s why you should participate: An estimated 10,000 students walk through the sale area ¦ Dedicated to businesses ¦ Direct access to the key 18 - 25 age demographic ¦ Prime opportunity to showcase your company ¦ Advertising in the Welcome Week Preview of which 10, 000 copies are distributed across campus and local community ¦ Prime location in the heart of the campus

Sidewalk Sale Protocol Absolutely no alcohol may be permitted at the event. Any contravention will result in immediate removal from campus by McMaster University Security and a complete restriction from all future campus events. ¦
¦ All noise levels from each retail space will be under close scrutiny. This is to ensure that all businesses have an environment in which to conduct beneficial activities.

All vendors must recognize and follow University policies and regulations.
There are no preferred table/tent locations. The location of your table/tent will only be discussed after a full payment and registration has been received. ¦

All vendors must comply with any requests of an event nature when approached by event staff.
Registration Options 1
$280.00 + Tax – this guarantees your company one 6’ table with two chairs, as well a 1/8th page black and white ad in the welcome week preview (extra tables $80.00 + Tax/Table) (ad 5” wide x 3.75” high) *Please note, if you choose option 1, your sale space is defined as a 7ft x 3 ft space. Only boxes containing sale items are able to be stored beyond those boundaries. Items to fit in this space would include pop-ups, sale racks, etc. and may not extend beyond this alloted space.

$570.00 + Tax – a 12’ x 12’ space guarantees your company two 6’ tables with four chairs, as well as a ¼ page black and white ad (5” wide x 7.5” high) in the welcome week preview.

$1015.00 + Tax – a 20’ x 20’ space guarantees your company three 6’ tables with six chairs, as well as a ¼ page black and white ad (5” wide x 7.5” high) in the welcome week preview.

$30.00 + Tax - Vendor must supply their own extension cord.
Cancellation Policy Limited refunds only available upon complete cancellation of the “Sidewalk Sale”. Decision to cancel the event will only be due to extreme weather, or extenuating circumstances.
