Instructions to complete “Silver Streak” earrings: Tip The letters A – C designate the beads used in the pattern. Please refer to the materials list above for the key. Step 1 Thread a needle with 4 feet of beading thread.
Step 2 Loop the tail end of the thread around one wire frame and tie a surgeon’s knot, leaving a 6-inch tail. Pull the knot tight (see Brick Stitch on a Component Technique).
Step 3 To start the first row, string 2 – A, and pull them down to the outer edge of the wire frame.

Step 4 Rest the two beads on the edge of the frame. They should sit side by side. Bring the needle behind the component, through the center opening, and back through the last A strung. Pull the thread taut.
Step 5 String 1 – A.
Step 6 Pass the needle behind the component, through the center, and back through the A strung in the previous step. Pull the thread taut.

Step 7 Repeat Steps 5 – 6 32 times, totaling 35 beads in row 1.
Step 8 To begin row 2, pass the thread, which is exiting the last bead in row 1, down through the second-to-last bead in row 1.
Step 9 Wrap the thread around the frame, and pass back up the same bead. Pull the thread taut.

Step 10 Pass down through the third-to-last bead in row 1.
Step 11 In the same manner as in Step 9, wrap the thread around the frame, and pass back up through the same bead.
Step 12 You are now in position to begin stitching row 2. String 2 – B, and pull them down to the row 1 beads.

Step 13 Pass the needle under the thread loop next to the row 1 bead beneath the 2 – B strung in the previous step, and then up through the last B strung in the previous step.
Step 14 Pull the thread taut.
Step 15 String 1 – B, and pull it to the row 1 beads.

Step 16 In the same manner as in Step 13, pass the needle under the next thread loop in row 1, and then up through the B strung in the previous step.
Step 17 Pull the thread taut.
Step 18 Repeat Steps 15 – 17 29 times, totaling 32 beads in row 2.

Step 19 In the same manner as in Step 8, with the thread exiting the last bead in row 2, pass down through the second-tolast bead in row 2.
Step 20 Wrap the thread around under the B bead to the other side, and pass back up through the same bead. Pull the thread taut.
Step 21 Pass down through the third-to-last bead in row 2.

Step 22 In the same manner as in Step 20, wrap the thread around under the B bead to the other side, and pass back up through the same bead. Pull the thread taut. You are now in position to begin row 3.
Step 23 String 2 – C, and pull them down to the row 2 beads.
Step 24 In the same manner as in Step 13, pass the needle under the thread loop next to the row 2 bead beneath the 2 – C strung in the previous step, and then up through the last C strung in the previous step. Pull the thread taut.

Step 25 In the same manner as in Step 15, string 1 – C.
Step 26 In the same manner as in Step 16, pass the needle under the next thread loop in row 2, and then up through the C strung in the previous step.
Step 27 Pull the thread taut.

Step 28 Repeat Steps 25 – 27 29 times, totaling 32 beads in row 3.
Step 29 To secure the thread, weave it back and forth through beads in all three rows, then trim the thread close to the beadwork. Thread a needle onto the tail thread, and weave it back through the beadwork in the same manner. Trim.
Step 30 Open one jump ring (see Opening and Closing a Jump Ring Technique).

Step 31 Use the jump ring to attach the charm to the outer loop on the wire frame so that the charm dangles in its center. Close the jump ring.
Step 32 Open the loop on one ear wire (see Attaching an Ear Wire Technique), and attach it to the top of the same loop used in the previous steps. Close the loop.
Step 33 Repeat Steps 1 – 32 for the second earring.
