M/E Reference 130214 On May 24, 2016, the writers visited the project site to observe the HVAC, Plumbing and Electrical work in progress and to determine, in general, if the work is proceeding in accordance with the Contract Documents prepared by M/E Engineering, P.C. Based on this general observation, the work appears to be in conformance with our Contract Documents, with the following exceptions:

DESCRIPTION HVAC GENERAL COMMENTS:
1.
VAV terminal unit reheat coil control valves shall not be installed above terminal units. Confirm all are readily accessible.
2.
Review pipe shields to ensure taped to the insulation, most done but not all.
3.
Duct insulation shall be installed up to outlet of VAV reheat coil, most done but not all.

HVAC ITEMS: Sixth Floor - volume dampers installed on return ductwork in corridor have not been approved. Remove and install approved volume dampers. PLUMBING GENERAL COMMENTS: Label all piping per the specifications. Not enough labeling in many spaces.

DESCRIPTION PLUMBING ITEMS: Mens Room 662, Relocate water piping to Mop sink to 7th floor per drawings and provide RPZ per drawings on both Hot and Cold Water FIRE PROTECTION ITEMS: On 3rd floor outside of Budget Office 310F move sprinkler lines so they do not conflict with FCU.

ELECTRIC GENERAL ITEMS:
1.
Provide covers on all boxes.
2.
Many locations where a wall box had wiring and it has been painted over. All conductors shall be able to be read. Clean as needed. All future to be masked prior to painting as should be.
3.
Panelboards flush on walls shall have four spare conduits as specified.
4.
Verify the maximum of 1/4" as allowed by NEC is not exceeded for the depth a wall box is recessed from the face of a wall (NEC 2008 314.20).
5.
Remove the temporary lighting/circuiting when no longer required.
6.
Several locations have a horizontal extension from a cable try for a J hook. This should be vertical or separately supported.
