Field Dimensions will be approximately 60 yards by 40 yards, with an 8 yards x 8 yards box marked. The penalty spot will be marked at a distance of (12) yards from the goal-line. The goals will be the standard U11/12 size (or approximately 8’ H x 18’ W). If the goals are of the “rebounder” type, any successful shot attempt “on frame” will result in a goal. A team MUST have a minimum of FOUR (4) players to start and finish a match. Players may play in multiple matches and on multiple teams as long as they are PROPERLY REGISTERED on a team entered in the Summer Sixes 6v6 Series-IV. All CO-ED teams MUST have a minimum of THREE (3) female players on the field AT ALL TIMES. All out-of-bounds restarts shall be done by using a THROW-IN. ALL restarts and free kicks will be “indirect kicks”, (EXCEPT FOR CORNER KICKS & PENALTY KICKS) WITH OPPONENTS AT LEAST SIX (6) YARDS FROM THE BALL). The match duration will be of TWO (2) TWENTY (20)-minute periods. Even when the match stops, the referee’s watch (clock/sundial/hourglass/moon dial) will continue to run. Only the goalkeepers will be allowed to make DELIBERATE contact with the ball in THEIR OWN 8-yard box. Any infractions of this rule by the offensive team will result in a goal kick for the defensive team. Goal kicks can be taken from ANYWHERE inside the 8-yard box. Making DELIBERATE contact (IN THE REFEREE’S OPINION) with the ball by a defensive player in THEIR OWN 8-yard box will result in a Penalty Kick being awarded to the offensive team. A goal can be scored by any field-player (or the GK) from anywhere within the field of play (except as noted above in restarts and the 8-yard box rule, meaning you CANNOT score from a goal-kick and/or a kick-off). GOALKEEPERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO PUNT OR DROP KICK THE BALL, AND MUST RE-START THE MATCH WITHIN SIX SECONDS (by putting the ball back in the field of play). Any infractions of this rule will result in the opposing team being awarded an INDIRECT FREE KICK from the center spot of the center circle. Goalkeepers are permitted to put the ball in play outside of the 8-yard box, and then play it as a field player. NO SLIDE TACKLES will be permitted, including by the goalkeeper, an indirect free kick being awarded to the opposing team for any infractions of this rule. Players must wear soccer appropriate shoes. Players must wear proper shin guards; NO SHIN GUARDS, NO PLAY!!! No jewelry of any type, anywhere on the player will be allowed! IF YOU HAVE JEWELRY ON, YOU DO NOT PLAY!!! SUBSTITUTIONS
With the referee’s permission, players may be substituted from the mid-field line AT ANY STOPPAGE IN PLAY. Substitutions will be unlimited for field players; however, GOALKEEPERS can be substituted ONLY ONCE PER EACH HALF or in the event of an injury. Incoming players must remain on the sideline until the outgoing players they are replacing have left the field. CONDUCT, SPORTSMANSHIP, & VERBAL ABUSE Coaches &/or Team Managers are responsible for GOOD SPORTSMANSHIP and GOOD CONDUCT of their players and spectators. Referees have complete authority during all matches and will not allow abusive or profane language or threats. If, in the opinion of the referee, a match must be terminated due to serious or persistent misconduct, the match will be abandoned. Series Representatives, Referees, and other Volunteers are not expected to accept verbal abuse from anyone at the event. If the Series Directors determine that there has been excessive verbal abuse, they may expel a team from the tournament. An expelled team has no right to any refunds, awards, or any other considerations whatsoever.
RED & YELLOW CARDS The (NMR 6v6) is a NO CARDS event. The referees will issue no yellow or red cards, but the referees are instructed to not tolerate any misbehaviour by you, your assistant coaches, your players, and your spectators. You will be asked to sub out a player who is behaving in a card-deserving manner (THEN IT IS UP TO THE REFEREE TO DECIDE IF AND WHEN TO ALLOW THAT PLAYER BACK IN THAT MATCH), If you are the problem, you will be asked to hand the coaching duties to your assistant(s) and leave the field immediately. If a spectator from your team is the problem, you will be asked to have him/her removed from the site. Failure to comply with any of the above-mentioned situations could result in the dismissal of your ENTIRE team (WITHOUT ANY REFUNDS WHATSOEVER) from any further participation in the (NMR 6v6). NOTE – Any player or coach “sent off” in the manner described above, CANNOT participate in the rest of that match or in a match starting in the very next time slot; that is a player or coach “sent off” in a 600PM match CANNOT participate in the rest of that match or in ANY matches starting at 700PM, whether it is with their own team or any other team in the event. ANY PLAYER / COACH / SPECTATOR WHO ASSAULTS A REFEREE OR ANY OTHER EVENT PERSONNEL WILL BE EXPELLED FROM THE TOURNAMENT AND REPORTED TO THE PROPER AUTHORITIES. SUSPENSION OF PLAY If play is suspended due to inclement weather, field conditions, or any other circumstances beyond the Event’s control, the Series Directors, in consultation with the Event committee, shall decide how best to complete that match (a shorter match or a PK shootout, etc.). There will be ABSOLUTELY no refunds issued for suspended, shortened, or cancelled matches. There is absolutely NO PROVISION for making up any matches beyond the dates of the event.
LIGHTNING POLICY & PROCEDURES Referees will have full control of the match with the ability to stop or delay the match due to inclement weather. Once the “All Stop/Clear the Field” signal is sounded by the NMSTC this policy takes over. Coaches, Referees, Spectators &/or Players CANNOT override the decision to clear the fields. ➢ The NMSTC will sound an “All Stop/Clear the Field” signal when the complex is being shut down and cleared for lightning. (This will be a long sounding siren). Go to your vehicle and wait. ➢ Once shut down, every (5) minutes the complex will re-sound the “All Stop/Clear the Field” siren until the lightning danger has passed. ➢ Once the lightning danger has passed the complex will sound the “All-Clear” signal. (Double tones). ➢ Once the “All-Clear” signal has sounded matches will be given a maximum (10) minute warm-up time (starting with the “AllClear” signal). Control of the match now reverts to the Referee Crew.
